    Interviewing New Players

There are truly only three questions that need to be asked of any gamer: 1. What is your name? 2. What is your quest? 3. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Men, women, insecurity & alcohol [** NEW UPDATE, DEC 2005 **]

Well, personally, my tastes run to human females, but to each his own, I guess. Far be it for me to judge. ;)

Men, women, insecurity & alcohol [** NEW UPDATE, DEC 2005 **]

OK, I just read this update. Do not walk away from her. Run. Run like the very hounds of Hell were after you. Run and don't look back. Back away from the crazy lady.

Men, women, insecurity & alcohol [** NEW UPDATE, DEC 2005 **]

Wow. This story does NOT surprise me. Reminds me of the college age Christian fellowship that I was part of years back. It was located in Boston, so there were a LOT of students in it from a large sampling of colleges and universities in the area. I asked a bunch of women out and was turned down...

    Cthulu? Wtf..?

Good. Frankly, I thought d20 Cthulhu, as an overall concept, blew monkey chunks. The book had some cool stuff in it, but simply the idea of melding Cthulhu and d20 was ill-advised. Long live the classic system! :] There's an online site, the name escapes me now, that deals with...

    Please..forgive me

Thanks to this video, the world is now a colder, nastier, lamer place.... :uhoh:

What do you like best about being a GM?

Personally, I like my wife's practice of "Put the DM in a good mood" the night before, so that I won't kill the party during the following evening's session!

    Quintessentially Forgotten Realms

The revival of Bane goes without saying, since it restores something which never should've been taken away in the first place ;) You BET that little aspect of the Realms came back in my campaign. Oh boy, did it come back!!!! :)

    Cthulu? Wtf..?

That's the one where the ship's propellers basically ruptured his head like an overinflated sac, yes? OK now...hold the phone on something I've read here...WotC NO LONGER has the Cthulhu license to do d20?? Really???? :D  :)

    "It's a joke name, sir."

In my campaign, I had to enforce the Dumb Name Syndrome (or DNS for short), in which I decided that if anyone was going to give their target...er..PC a dumb name, that it was a sign that the player wasn't taking the campaign seriously, and thus would be marked for an early death. That may sound...

Players with problems with other players

Problem is, if a bunch of the gamers approached him, would he then think he was being ganged up on?

    More bad Press for D&D

Thanks to my faithful playing of D&D, I have gained the unspeakably mystical powers of turning expensive beer into urine, and turning a delicious steak and baked potato dinner into a pile of poo. Fear my mighty transmogrification powers! :)

    Quintessentially Forgotten Realms

Another Realms-Shaking Event? Geez. Yet something ELSE I'll need to ignore, then. As much as I love the Realms, I really, really, (really!) hate the way events are handled. Either nothing happens, or the entire world changes. The gods fight each other! Some of them die! Some stupid putz takes...

"....so we tossed the jerk out...."

Thanks for the compliment! And may I say, your story is hilarious....I've been in situations where I've sat in on another DM's session, and he's tried to pull out all stops, when it turns out that there's only ONE stop to pull out! ;)

WHAM? What, do you get attacked by George Michael??? :p

No more Star Wars RPG - It's Official

Oh believe me, I love it too! Hell, we actually put our D&D campaign on indefinite hold at the time, and we ran a ST:RPG campaign (with the USS Valiant, NCC-1718, from the Federation ship manual as our campaign vessel). I loved the sourcebooks too, which is why I always considered Paramount to...

    Quintessentially Forgotten Realms

Specialty priests are NOT to blame....I was assigned to create them in "Warriors and Priests of the Realms" specifically BECAUSE of the extensive god-stuff in the Realms. But I've gone on record as saying I didn't like the events in the Avatar series, and I'll do so again. ;) And I totally...
