    Animal Companions at higher Level

A couple questions/update about the druid that this post started on; definately not worth a new thread. Anyhoo, so I'am thinking abut multiclassing the druid at this point. Probobly going to "dismiss" the animal companion, when I can get it home; I figure a druid wouldn't want to keep it...

    Animal Companions at higher Level

Not a problem and good point. I think part of the problem is the DM sometimes handles monsters strangely. He routinely targets spellcasters (how his monsters can pick the cleric in plate out vs a fighter is strange..) to the exclusion of the fighter wailing on him. Or he will target one...

    Animal Companions at higher Level

The druid was designed to be a melee fighter, loosely based on a charcter in a book. Basically, he fights in animal form (tiger) and buffs to make himself as tough as possible.

Do Magic Items Work While Wild Shaped?

One thing to note; an animal with claws might not want to wear "mitts". might make using the claws difficult...

    Animal Companions at higher Level

That is pretty much the tactics I use; the tiger has bracers and an amulet to get his 25 AC, and in battle the druid will buff, wildshape, and then they are facing 2 huge tigers. The problem with that is they are needed in the front pretty quick and I don't get a whole lot of time to buff. I...

    Animal Companions at higher Level

Well it was him and 5 others going to to toe with the dragon, it just full attacked him; and for some reason it kept hitting him even after he was down :\

    Animal Companions at higher Level

Not sure your reading the feat right, it adds 3 to your effective druid level up to your character level. It is essentially the "practiced spellcaster" for the multiclass druid. My druid is single class, so no go.

    Animal Companions at higher Level

Yeah, we just fought a black dragon that power attacked for 12 and still hit him like 6 times... He didn't make it.

    Animal Companions at higher Level

I guess that is the way it is heading. Unfortunately the character concept is a druid that wildshapes to tiger form and focusses on melee; the additon of the tiger companion made for the potential of a pair of combat baddies. However, in light of recent events in our campaign (ie. the...

    Animal Companions at higher Level

I am not saying it should be able to take down (or even come close) the party fighter; but if it can't hang in melee and requires resources to even keep alive, it has become a liability. Bascially, having not played a druid defore, I am wodering if that is generally the case and if the...

    Animal Companions at higher Level

Is a druid's animal companion viable at higher level? I am currently playing a druid 11 with a tiger animal companion. I don't want to switch companions everytime a new, more powerful companion comes along (that just seems a little munchkiny), but the companion advancement seems a little...

D&D 3.x Any 3.5 books that have a list of poisons in them?

Good point, but most evil objects in DnD are specifiaclly invested with evil for the sole purpose of making them evil; while they may be inanimate, they are specifically made malignant. A poison could be invested with evil, and thus made evil itself; but for the most part, judging from the...

D&D 3.x Any 3.5 books that have a list of poisons in them?

Werk, We seem to agree that poison is an inanimate object that cannot, by itself, be evil; any evilness would be a factor of how it is used. But you seem to be saying that any use of poison to hurt people has to be evil, simply because it hurts people. I am mearly trying to point out that in...

D&D 3.x Any 3.5 books that have a list of poisons in them?

Werk, I wasn't taking you out of context. I was simply responding to your statement that any poison that "outright hurts" someone is evil; that is your wording, not anything about rubbing a sword in pig droppings to kill in a few days (that is in your next post), "outright hurts" is your...

D&D 3.x Any 3.5 books that have a list of poisons in them?

So why would using a poison that "outright hurts" someone be evil, but sticking them in the kidneys with a sword, which would definately "outright hurt" them, not be evil? By your logic, combat makes a character evil.

    rogue/wizard?

This was already answered, so I'll just try and clarify a little. In order to have 7 ranks in a class skill (3 + level), you have to be 4th level. But any skill that was At ONE TIME a class skill has level + 3 max ranks (7 at 4th level). So if you have any levels of rogue prior to 4th, you...

    Ideas for a drow.

So, not to hijack the thread but... Druzzy't (or whatever) has ruined dual wielding scimitars forever. The obvious dervish build is finesse-scimitar-dualweilder, but try and bring that to a game and all you hear is "so you ripped off Dryzzet did ya?". C'mon, just because you weilding to...
