My game...and the corner I painted myself into

How about going with the religious zealots accusing the almost paladin of heresy idea. The bishop can send him on a quest for a long, lost magic item, citing that if he recovers his holy relic it will show his devotion to the Good gods and the angry religious people will see he's not evil. But...

    Paladin with animal companion

I've always thought the concept of a non-mounted combat paladin fighting evil along side of a massive great dane or Irish wolfhound was a nifty one. Would it be a balanced trade-off to give a paladin an animal companion instead of a mount? If yes, should it get the bonuses of a paladin mount...

    What's the next "Scape" book?

I agree, I'd love to see a Junglescape book next.

What are all the sources containing options for making Sneak Attack affect Undead?

The Skullclan Hunter PrC's (from the Miniatures Handbook) second level ability lets all sneak attack damage effect undead. I thought there was a feat in one of the newer books that let you apply half of your SA damage to undead but I can't remember where that was.

    Awakened dire animal characters

In the Midnight setting many dire animals grew intelligent and have joined in the big fight against the evil races. So I was trying to figure out how to make dire animal player characters. So a few questions: 1. Is there an "Awakened" template or should they get the benefits of the spell...

    All mages!

I've never played that adventure but while I'm sure it'll be a big challenge, it'd be a fun one. It sounds like a quest where you have to think outside of the box because otherwise you won't make it. That sort of thing sounds very fun to me. They know it's going to be a challenge with their...

    Why do you love/hate Drizzt?

I agree, I think R.A. Salvatore is an exceptional writer. He doesn't expand out of the action/adventure genre but in that genre he's in the tops. I think he's excellent at describing action scenes and mastering cliffhanging chapters. I used to like Drizz't when I was younger but he's become...

Animal companions, bonus hit dice and size increases

Do the bonus hit dice that an animal companion gets cause it to change size? (i.e., would a 3rd level Druid's wolf animal companion be large as per the SRD "Hit Dice: 2d8+4 (13 hp)" & "Advancement: 3 HD (Medium); 4-6 HD (Large)"

Zombie Plagues in your Campaign Setting

I think this type of attitude would make for a great roleplaying confrontation between a "fireball away/survival of those most important (or country as a whole)" group and a "try to save everyone, no matter how dire the situation" group, regardless of which side the PCs fall on.

What do you consider yourself best/worst at?

As a GM: Worst: Coming up with an overall plot. Best: Developing situations or challenges for the players. I help one of my friends who GMs for another group and if he tells me his overall plot, I'm good at adding situations/scenarios to that plot. But I can never come up with a solid plot on...

Zombie Plagues in your Campaign Setting

It'd also be interesting to have battles between various settlements of the living, where one isn't concerned about banding together and wants to sack another to take their survival essentials.

    Graft a familiar

The feat says that "you can create grafts of your chosen type and apply them to other creatures or to yourself". So I'd say you could apply them to a familiar. Although some of them require that they are applied to a living, corporeal creature, so they'd rot off of your undead familiar.

Zombie Plagues in your Campaign Setting

Those are some great start concepts to keep the campaign interesting. I still have a hunch some of them would be pretty easy for mid- to high-level characters (or at least not a threat to themselves, personally) but it'd still be interesting to find out if my hunch is true. If you ever decide...

Zombie Plagues in your Campaign Setting

I think that sounds very cool. Although I'd make it for lower level characters. I think mid to high level characters would be unchallenged, even in the face of terribly unbalanced numbers. I'd also shorten the attracting moan to much less than a mile. I have no evidence but that seems too...

What is the preferrable option after a PC death?

As either the player or the GM it'd go with the preference of the player. Sometimes if my character dies I'd be ready to try out a new character but other times I'd rather be raised if I really liked my current character (and it if made sense for the character to want to be raised). If I'm the...

    What is your icon?

Thanks! That what I went as for Halloween last year. Bowie's the greatest! (PS: Yep, dead on Werk. It's the Aladdin Sane album cover.)

    What is your icon?

While I recognise many of the icons (or is it avatars) that people have here, there are some that look familiar but I can't place (particularly Olaf the Stout's and Umbran's). So what is your icon/where does it come from?

A Campaign With a Silly (But Interesting) Twist

I don't like that it sets up an in-game rule for an out-of-game problem. If I was a player in the game I'd rather the power abuse problems be discussed and worked out out-of-game instead.
