What gameworld would you want to be in?

I'll second that! I can't watch a zombie flick without getting drawn in, thinking about what I would do in the characters' shoes. It's exhilarating to me I think because apart from the overwhelming volume of zombie, they're a foe that I could actually defeat in real life (whereas I'd stand no...

    Character development!

Do you mean Uri Geller? (Although maybe Ari Fleischer has some spoon bending powers too. ;) )

What gameworld would you want to be in?

I'd say it's actually definitely guaranteed to fail in the end. Which is why I love the heroism in it. You know you're going to lose but you work against it regardless!

What gameworld would you want to be in?

I'd go with Ptolus or Forgotten Realms because I like the fantastical nature of them. Or Midnight because while it would be intensely harsh, being a hero there is that much more heroic.

    What would soften the blow?

That hits the nail on the head for me.

    Long campaigns

The highest I've played in was 10th level (starting at 1st) but most games recently never go that far at all. What I wouldn't give for a 1-20 game!

Going to church? Don't forget your sawed-off shotgun!

I agree. In my first CoC game one of my friends played a character whose occupation was "Southern gentleman". The player piled percentage points into Library Use, Spot Hidden, Dodge, Handgun, Sword, Occult and Credit Rating. He always carried around his pistol and his cane was actually a...

    The Swashbuckler! [as a PrC]

It seems pretty well built but I don't think it's a good replacement for the base Swashbuckler class (assuming that was your intent). I took a swashbuckler build that I toyed around with and compared it to your PrC to see how they stood out. For me, I didn't like how the prerequisites forced...

    Fun dungeon crawl modules

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I'm going through now to check them all out! I appreciate the help!

    Fun dungeon crawl modules

I bought WLD with the same idea in mind but it didn't work because of the dungeon itself, not because of logistics or anything. We did the first dungeon and both me and the players found each area to be very repeditive and not very interesting. So we haven't returned to it.

    Fun dungeon crawl modules

Thanks for the thought but I'm looking for an adventure for more than one person. Although, I have wanted to try a 1 on 1, so I'll check it out!

The need for social skills in D&D

I think that a social skills should have a large basis on the actual roleplaying instead of the die roll. But I find it should be mostly a penalty due to poor roleplaying instead of a bonus for a good speech. I've been in games before where the social aspects have relied entirely on the die...

Weapons you wished you'd see sometimes.

I always like the phalanx or valkyrie imagery spears give. I also love the look of the net and trident gladiator. And I'd like to see a harpoon in use. I tried to work out some neat combos to take advantage of its ability or with a PrC but nothing really made it stand out.

    Is this a suicide mission?

As long as the consequences for a wrong answer are too terrible, I think it's fine.

    Fun dungeon crawl modules

For the times when my group's games are cancelled due to not everyone being available or for a non-roleplaying heavy session, I was thinking of having some solid dungeon crawl-ish adventures around. Ideally I'd like ones that start at low level and just continue higher (as opposed to starting...

How do you rule on invisible weapons?

Maybe this will help... Complete Scoundrel has a new magic item, Bladeshimmer (pg 114), that can be applied to non-living items to turn them invisible. It's rules say: if someone's holding the now invisible item it looks as if their hand is empty except by a keen eyed observer. Make an...

    Does your group DM?

Except for the one guy who's new to roleplaying in general, everyone has at some point. Although I'm typically not very willing because I don't enjoy GM very much. People in my group run games when there's a time slot available (usually once a campaign has run its course) and if they want to...
