It makes the site less new user friendly, that was an easy way to get integrated into the various discussion. I have noticed no perfomance difference without it... :(

For me, I browse from work. It is a bit more noticable to kepp 6-8 seperate forum Tabs open than it was to keep the front page available. I liked that I could see at a glance what the community was thinking. Now I can't we are fractured and kept in seperate forums and cannot have a grand unified...

Yes, but then I need to look at 5-6 pages at a time, not just one quick glance. I browse at work and this makes it almost impossible to do that. BIG FROWN :(
