[Lion's Den/Ronin Arts] Keith Baker comes to Lion's Den, with "Classic Fey"!

Bought, printed, and about to read while I watch the end of the Yankees-Red Sox game.

So in '06 you'll be buying...

In 2006 I will be buying a stuff that was published in 2004 and 2005. I've found that by waiting I can get better prices and read more reviews and other feedback before making a purchase.

Would You Allow an Old Starting PC?

I thought NPC classes did not count towards the multiclass penalty, or is that just a common house rule people mention.

    Sick of Magic Missile

From the WotC website, the old Spellbook feature: "New this month, we have a spell that player characters can use as an alternative to the ever-popular magic missile. It’s an interesting option from the player’s perspective, in that it offers a higher damage potential. However, the target gets...

Rolecall for the Dead - Bring out your dead!

My online homebrew campaign keeps a database of "Those Who Have Gone Before". This is a cut-and-paste from that, with retired characters edited out. Chalest of Ghourd - human paladin, Killed by giant bear Gulgoth Roanbard - dwarf figther/wizard, Killed by giant bear Dunnar Stranistar - human...

Hypothetical questions for anyone who likes Batman

I tried there, but did not find a decent summary all in one place. This site did a good job: http://comics.ign.com/articles/598/598330p1.html Maybe I'll pick up the first issue of Infinite Crisis and see what all the hubbub is about.

Hypothetical questions for anyone who likes Batman

I'm one of those who used to buy comics but does not anymore. I'm not sure where they lost me. Admittedly, price is a big part of it, and so is gaming. With 3.x, I became more active in gaming and it hit me that I could buy 8 or 10 comics that I would read in a couple of hours and then put in a...

"Religous" women that was taken hostage gave her captor drugs.

"Judge not . . . " or some such, I think the saying goes.

Why can't you be prepared for a game session

I meant to add something on the subject of free time. I too have a job, kids, and other things that take up my time. However, I often find that I manage time much better when I am busy. Maybe something just kicks in and convinces me not to "waste" time when I realize that it is so limited...

Would You Allow an Old Starting PC?

I like this idea. Again, I keep hearing great ideas for old PCs, and I never seem to think about it when it comes time to make a new PC. diaglo, remind me next time you kill my character. I still owe you a fisherman PC anyway, so I'll have to use The Old Man and the Sea as my inspiration.

Why can't you be prepared for a game session

The short answer: Priorities. I don't mean that in a judgemental way at all. Many gamers (probably the vast majority of us who post on EN World) are very involved in the hobby. We devote some time virtually every day to thinking about the game, if not to actually working on game prep. But...

    Giant Squid captured on film

Just the fact that we have suspected, and then pretty much known, the giant squid to exist for years without being able to capture it on film opens the imagination to all sorts of legendary monsters. Of course, the ocean is a big place, and largely unexplored. So I'm not saying this convinces...

Confidential Information being shared from bogus account

I've been following this somewhat, and am still confused a little. Vigilance's title indicates he is a "Registered User", can he even received EN World PMs? Or was he talking about some other form of instant messaging? He does have his Yahoo and AIM addresses public.

Just professing my conversion to the trapsense = auto search house rule. I dig it.

Would You Allow an Old Starting PC?

I've considered this a few times myself, but never got the right inspiration at the right time. The stat boosts are certainly not cheap, especially compared to racial stat adjustments. Players choose races to gain an advantage with a particular class all the time, no reason not to allow...

Have you become disillusioned with 3rd edition?

Still playing 3.5, pretty much RAW, and very happy with it. I play in a 3.5 game that is up to 13th-14th level, and I'm still having a blast. I DM a World's Largest Dungeon campaign, with very few rules tweaks for flavor. I also play in diaglo's OD&D game. It is not my system of choice, but...

    Tonight is Threshold

I date my Gugino infatuation back to the first season of Spin City. The creators decided mid-way thru that season to drop her instead of having Fox tied down to a girlfriend, and I decided to stop watching.

EN World Pigskin Pick'em (Updated 12.27.05 - Week 16 results posted)

9-4, still pretty good. I must be getting subconsciously cocky though, as I completely forgot to pick a score for the tiebreaker. Looks like I will cling to my lead for another week, as Jaws and I both have Denver picked tonight.

    What to buy... Help!

I too am discovering Theives' World for the first time. I read a few of the stories years ago, but never got the big picture. I have not bought the d20 book yet, but for those interested in getting a start on the short stories they recently re-released the first two books in one volume called...
