For something different, try BASH http://bashrpg.com/ It is a super heroes game, but there is also a fantasy version. By far the simplest supers game I have found.

Another vote in favor of 1-12th level adventure paths! I followed the threads on the "sweet spot" and agreed with a good portion of the conclusions. Great idea.

I'm starting to feel some rules burnout myself. I certainly remember the days of reading through the latest splatbook and thinking about all of the cool characters I could make. While I'm not a power gamer, my ideas certainly slanted towards characters that would be as good or better than...

I purchased all of the Oathbound books previously, and most of the other stuff. As others have said, take a look at Oathbound. For $5 a book you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Very interesting and original setting.

I came close, but luckily my wife fell asleep and was able to change over to football. It looked pretty cheesy to me. People who buy dress-up clothes and talk like pirates. Did I understand correctly that the dad started talk like a pirate day?

Thanks! The adventure looks good. I've only skimmed it, but I may use it for the game I run for my kids. I'd certainly be interested in more Kickstart adventures.
