Revenge of the Giants is clearly a 4e conversion of Against the Giants. Lots of substantive additions.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

Meh, replace mining with scraping. I stand corrected.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

What would you say they are violating then?

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

Take it up with WotC. Data mining is the term they use in the ToU.

So it is about petty and petulant whining about scale? If you don't want that to be what I get out of your argument, you really should stop making that a key point.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

Regardless of the exact technical term, its clear that MP replicates a rather large portion of the DDI database. Getting hung up over obscure terms is beside the point.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

What do you call going through and cataloging every element of database in your own format.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

It doesn't even have the data for the powers. It has the name of the power. The text of what it does is still stored on the DDI server.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

No, iplay4e doesn't save anything (ignore lower level issues like browser cacheing. MP does. Huge difference.

Meh, whining about scale changing strikes me as petty and petulant.

    WotC's Epic Adventures

I'm planning on running that set as well once my group finishes the Revenge of the Giants. I personally think that it reads really really well. It's clearly an over the top epic adventure, but I think that's really what WotC's goal is for the epic tier.

Mearls is the new manager of D&D

IIRC, there was some upset at the Moathouse conversion sent out as a DM reward. It used a different scale and collapsed a large number of separate rooms into a single encounter (ie, the entire first floor was one large fight).

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

A C&D is the asking. It's just the legalese way of politely asking. If the MP developers felt they were in the right, they can ignore the C&D.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

Right, it makes it easy to share the data from the compendium. Certainly its hard to do accidentally, but that isn't what I said.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

Not to be a WotC cheerleader, but what MP was doing was allowing for an easy way to share a huge amount of the DDI compendium information. I can understand why WotC would look down on such an app. That's a big distinction from a program like iplay4e which integrates with the DDI, but only does...

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

It wouldn't be that hard to dynamically load the info from the server that masterplan currently caches locally. It would slow things up slightly, but still make the program workable and within the limits of WotC's ToU.

    1/4 of them.

What will Masterplan be after the C&D?

Compendium integration was the major selling feature for me. The whole point was that it grabbed all the info needed.

I'd be pretty nervous around a wizard who could kill the entire town with a single spell. That said, I dunno how well known it would be that V was the one who cast the spell.

Mearls is the new manager of D&D

Our hobby is really really cheap to buy in. Even assuming you have to buy the whole set at MSRP, when for most people they only need to buy the phb off of amazon ($23 bucks currently), that's still less than the cost of two games for a console. 10-20 hours is pretty good for a console game...
