ahh, but a mere hit from a greatsword doesnt mean you have been impaled/decapitated/dismembered a 'hit' might well mean your armour stopped the blow but the force knocked some stuffing out of you.. ditto with a fireball, it might singe you but not do any major damage.. as for the dragon.. er...
