Actually this is not to bad - all we used to do is run the steer into a cage, and use the externer arm with the rubber bands on them.... snap them over the "units" and a couple of days later they just fall off no mess no fuss .....:D

I have found with most of the "German" games you need 3+ people - unless the game is specifically designed for 2 people. This is due to the fact that almost all German games involves some type of trading or negotiation and when you play with 2 the motivation to do this is limited.
