    Island concept

Please no. Nononononono... Giant centipedes and spiders were horrible enough. An island rat swarm? Nightmares. Eeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

Being safe as a woman jogger

Really? My mom and boyfriend have been encouraging me to get pepperspray for my jogs. Well, crap. I'm originally from Rhode Island, so I had no idea about this. I do bring my cell and whistle (saved from the package all the girls got from campus security on our first day at university in '99...

D&D 4E What do you think should be the primary source of inspiration for 4ed flavor?

I chose mythology and folklore, but I like a good dash of D&D tradition too. And cinnamon. Lots of cinnamon.

How Come Every Cop Show Feartures a Chaotic Aligned Character?

When my boyfriend and I saw Hot Fuzz, we couldn't help but be amused by the fact that we were basically watching his D&D character on screen. LG cult-busting-paperwork-loving-toothpick-chewing cop sent to middle-of-nowhere.

weight loss, diet, and fitness thread

I've started the jogging thing again. About four miles (my house to Alewife and back). Start out walking to warm up, jog/run for a short period, walk, run again when I'm ready. I have a heart rate monitor, so that helps me stay in "the zone" without pushing myself to overdo it. My knees are...

    What is your favorite soup?

I love chowdahs of all types. That Manhattan stuff -- it ain't chowdah. Corn, clam... autumn chowdah is amazing. (Autumn chowdah = potatoes and bacon and carrots in a chowdah.) Maple butternut squash soup is definitely a favorite too. Or carrot curry soup. Or pumpkin curry soup...

No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

But one would still have to buy the "guest operating system," yes? The same would be true for Boot Camp, I believe. $80 + $240 for Windows... Just so a Mac user can get in on the "digital initiative"? Frowny. Virtual PC isn't an option either, is it?

No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

Yeah, if you BUY Windows. Having to buy an additional OS just to run DDI? Ick. (I have no other reason why I'd use Windows. Why bother for something like this?)

    Good races for druids

I like playing human for druid because of the extra feat and skill points. Druids are pretty lacking with the feats to begin with and squeezing in a "Scribe Scrolls" for those extra spells you just can't do without is a good thing.

weight loss, diet, and fitness thread

Great thread! :) Where I am: Not the heaviest I've been, but still overweight for my height. Battling with genetics, medication and stress. Exercise: I walk about two miles a day, but I'm trying to add in a longer run. I also want to start yoga again (I did it all through college and it was...

How would you rate your group's OOC chatter?

I prefer it when one game is PG-13. The other, I don't mind NC-17. I guess it has to do with the company.

    On Fantasy Names (Resurrected Rant)

I'm a pretty bad Gaelic offender. Maeve. Legitimate name, but typically fantasy sounding. Llyr, also (as a surname). It's a Welsh deity.
