    What happened to ENWorld 2?

I was just reminded of ENWorld 2. As I recall, it was supposed to be introduced "shortly" a long time ago... what happened to it? Has anything happened to it?

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

While I'm not really familiar with Gleemax, I do think it offers at least the promise of some neat things. Advantages: * Wiki * Blog * Able to legally use WotC content with impunity. * More direct and extensive contanct with developers and WotC staff. Disadvantages: * Lots of annoying people...

What is on your Buy list?

Basically nothing. The Shackled City Adventure Path hardbook gives me everything I need. The players use some Complete books, which I purchased recently. I do need some new dice. I intend to buy several Ars Magica books in preperation for my next campaign, starting at December or so...

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

That's one case. My solution isn't "perfect" in that it allows Wizards to do that, but it at least offers protection to those willing to invest in it. If you're just a fan posting on Wizard's boards, you'll still need to trust Wizard's goodwill not to publish your work. But if you're not...

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

Thanks a lot MerricB. I'd advise WotC to put more pressure on their lawyers, then. It seems to me like the layers simply don't have the inclination to come up with original solutions that will serve Wizard's interests in the site while maintaining its rights and safety. They just revert to the...

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

No. The poster on Gleemax didn't, strictly speaking, have the right to post your work, so can't grant WotC any rights over something he doesn't own. That's regardless of the TOS. The question is whether if you post something you have rights over (Randy mentions a rules system or setting), you...

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

I certainly agree with your thought, which is why I maintain that the TOS won't be as Randy's post presented it. According to his post, if JK Rowling starts statting our Hogwarts students WotC could publish the Complete Gryffindor, which doesn't make sense :) As I understand it, Randy...

Looking for a New Setting to Conquer

I'd add that Midnight as published has the world already overrun by evil. It'll be better, IMO, to use the (rather extensive) history information there and put the PCs behind the triumph of the dark god over the world. The PCs would replace the Night Kings as the rulers of the conquered lands...

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

I... want to say "Yes, they can", but I'll bow before your wisdom. [Aren't agreements a way "around" trademark/copyright exclusivity? And isn't clicking "I Agree" on the TOS legally a binding agreement?] WotC has been very good about respecting others' IP and their fans. If it intends to pay...

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

I'm certain WotC considers putting stuff on Canonfire publishing. However, the concern that this won't be allowed is, I believe, based on misreading what Randy actually said. It is clear to me from the above that the new Terms of Service will simply allow you to use WotC's IP on Gleemax; use of...

Looking for a New Setting to Conquer

The Forgotten Realms seems to fit the bill nicely - very detailed, very close to core, and at least in most cases they have reasonable names. Another option I'd recommend is Birthright - it's a setting very well designed for this as it is all about the feuds over the toppled kingdom's throne...

    Where to by dice?

I need to purchase dice - about 20d6 and, oh, 5 extra d20. We're starting to climb in levels, and need more dice... Where can I purchase nice dice cheaply? The only option I saw was purchasing d6s individually (I only saw packages for d6s with pips, not numbers), which is very annoying. It...

    Destruction on a ludicrous scale

The excursians in Nobilis want to destroy creation. They do it by creating elaborate circumstances that devoid terms of their meaning. As the meaning is lost, so is this term battled with on the spiritual realm, leading to the destruction of all that exists one Platonic ideal at a time. A...

    Writing useful game material efficiently

Neat, thanks. rycanada: I would suggest focusing on explaining it's a technique to efficiently generate useful material and "plot tools" (?!) for the game, to focus the DMs limited time in constructive directions; then proceeding to explain the four elements; then proceed with a detailed...

"How to make a Monster Manual Pt II" article

I like their ideas. Won't be purchasing their MMV anytime soon, but they got me interested. I REALLY like the idea of cutting down on book-keeping. I'm having enough trouble as it is. I also like the idea, looming in the background there, that NPCs aren't PCs. MMs should be designed to...

    Concentrating on a Spell?

I have a psychic warrior with a power (forgot the name) that works for as long as he concentrates. The question is - what does it take to break his concentration? Can he cast another power while maintaining the other? Can he attack or move while maintaining concentration? The SRD provides DCs...

Going beyond humans in funny clothes?

Although I've yet to try it in practice, I like the approach Atlas Games took in describing demons in their recent (Ars Magica) book, The Infernal. They essentially took the seven virtues (mirror images, if you'd like, of the seven deadly sins) and contemplated what a being lacking them will be...

    [Gleemax]Another thing not to like.

I don't like these rules. I don't like WotC having the right to do whatever they want with my posts, I don't like them being allowed to publish some poster's work and not even credit him, and I certainly don't like the idea that said poster can't publish his material elsewhere. That these terms...

    Writing useful game material efficiently

I like it. Like everyone else, I'm leery of saying everything outside problems, threats, resources, and rewards is a wsate - but thinking in those terms seems like a good technique to come up with complications and motivations.
