I might amend that and say that superhero characters, in general, tend to have power levels that vary widely with the writer working on them. So any variation in MCU depictions is pretty much par for the course.

There can be a significant difference between a teacher who also coaches and a coach who also teaches. Already addressed by pukunui pages ago. Even considering an action that sounds doable rather than is reasonable, the spell is a lot more restrictive than Dominate Person.

That was actually never a 1e rule - that's a holdover from some Basic days. 1e's Method I was 4d6, drop low, arrange as desired. And this would be kind of weird since many 1e spells automatically scaled with level without having to burn a higher spell slot.

Ultimately, some of this depends on just how "less fond" you are of a game. Is it not your favorite but OK? Is it a game you're neutral toward? Is it a game you actively dislike? Because depending on that sentiment, you may have the perfect (system I prefer), the good (system I don't care for...

I think you're missing some major points here. 1) That epic boon is in 2014, not 2024, and can only be awarded by the DM, so any argument about how it would work with 2024 multiclassing rules or taken as a high level benefit (19th level) is hypothetical at best. 2) You can't gain a 9th level...
