Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

(to poster who just can’t pull an Elsa and let it go) Oh, for crying out loud, give it a rest, already!

D&D General Why did you have to cancel/reschedule your most recent session?

I have already canceled our next session because that’s the day my wife comes home from the hospital after surgery. She’ll need me around in a pretty big way.

    Gamehole Con 2025 Thread

I feel that Gary Con is more crowded feeling. But that could be because of the layout of the resort compared to the convention center structure of the Alliant Energy Center. And I totally hear you on the Goldilocks feel of Gamehole Con. I agree - good size, good variety, good amenities, great...

    Gamehole Con 2025 Thread

They’re calling it Wardens of the Eastern Marches and it sounds pretty AL-adjacent. They’re going to offer some options where a GM can link with a single group of players for multiple sequential scenarios and thus offer greater continuity in play from one session to another.

    Gamehole Con 2025 Thread

Yeah, he’s got a lot of things going on. He’s a lawyer who also owns a stake in True Dungeon and a couple of restaurants, last I knew.

    Gamehole Con 2025 Thread

It may sound… questionable. But once you know the Gamehole is Alex Kammer’s massive game collection, it’s a lot less weird. In previous years, I know there have been charity games that are actually hosted in the famed Gamehole, itself.

    Gamehole Con 2025 Thread

I have volunteered to GM four sessions of Alex’s new organized play program for 5e. It’s currently sounding a bit like they’re adding some factions like Pathfinder Society has. I’m interested to see how the scenarios play out.

D&D 5E (2014) What Paizo Adventures (Paths or otherwise) Have You Run in 5E

Age of Worms, start to finish. As levels rose, I found one of the main changes I had to make in the conversion was hit points - a lot more of them - in order to get similar challenges for the 5e PCs compared to 3.5e. Otherwise, it went pretty well.

D&D General What Is D&D Generally Bad At That You Wish It Was Better At?

It was possible to do that, but it was substantially possible because the DCs weren’t necessarily that high for relatively mundane accomplishments. Add magic, and sure, those DCs could be blown away.

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

I liked the scene switch from Kingpin's bloody knuckles to Matt's as he was washing his hands in the restroom.

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

For me, this is going to depend a lot on the nature of the licensed setting. Blade Runner is relatively narrow in scope and so I think it works best focusing on the themes and ambiance without, for example, shipping out to wage space wars. But both Star Wars and Star Trek and even the Marvel...

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

Pretty much, yes, someone was going to try to kill White Tiger - that was pretty strongly foreshadowed. The question now is - was it cops acting on their own or some other killer arranged by Kingpin. Sorry, MAYOR Kingpin. They've gotten us to divide our suspicions there, at least.

D&D General What Is D&D Generally Bad At That You Wish It Was Better At?

Sure, but it's kind of a specialty for Aragorn and a pretty substantial element of Conan's adventuring life. But would we expect it of, for example, Prince Imrahil from Dol Amroth? He's a warrior and leader just a step below Aragorn's significance and he knows something of healer craft. But he's...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

There are some people whom I'd normally consider reasonably intelligent who turn into blithering idiots on certain topics - and this is true outside of gaming as well as inside. I suppose, under certain circumstances, this could apply to most if not all of us.

D&D General What Should Magic Be Able To Do, From a Gameplay Design Standpoint?

Bless and Haste have been pretty common in the games I've been running.

D&D General Can a Wish spell move a moon to cause an eclipse?

Whether they recognize it's because of orbital mechanics or believe it's Fenris chomping on the sun, I'm pretty sure they recognize it's different from the shadow of a tennis ball.

D&D General Can a Wish spell move a moon to cause an eclipse?

Then what would be the significance of a ritual needing to be performed during an eclipse when you could just do it under the awning at the corner pub? Nope. Eclipses are supposed to mean something, particularly given the context of the OP. A minor shadow doesn't really mean something...

D&D General Can a Wish spell move a moon to cause an eclipse?

That's not an eclipse, though. That's just a shadow. What's the difference between an eclipse and a passing cloud? Or a parasol? Or stepping under into a tree's shadow? An eclipse is when one celestial body obscures another celestial body. Stepping under a parasol doesn't mean you've...
