Hmmm... come to think of it, how much of the rulesbooks is 'flavor.' Do we really need the examples or the historical background? If most of that was cut out, most of the PHB (minus spells) could fit into pocket size, and with some decent diagrams and tables.

I've never actually gone for E-Sub (Sonic), but that's because I usually grab Archmage as soon as I can. Free subsititution to every element on the fly makes the feat kinda useless.

I've never been that impressed with the BoVD. The 'vile' teasers in Dragon 300 are much cooler than the majority of things in the BoVD, and the drugs, torture and diseases... meh. The only saving grace is the Festering Anger cheese, and Masochism/Sadism. Otherwise, mediocre.

Big question: Is your DM going to give you items/equipment to compensate for those 3 levels? The DMG's 'average gold for level' has 14th level at 150 000gp, and 17th level 340 000gp. That's a 190 000gp difference, and if you don't get that, and your DM starts throwing CR 17 and CR 18 creatures...

Spiral binding, especially on small books, is good, because you can lay the book flat. Also, if it's a DIY setup, most printing stores have plastic spiral binding machines, for a relatively low cost.

Fighter BAB + Spellcasting doesn't automatically break the class, it just seems powerful at first. However, all the nifty bonuses in Windwalker are perhaps too powerful. Oh well, just rule 0 it.

Wow... 300 pages is about as thick as the 3.5 core books. That's going to heavy. I think that with no images, it should come out at around 200 or so (double sided). If we keep it at less than 5.5x8, we can fit 2 pages per standard 8x11 sheet of paper. Double sided, that's maybe 100 standard...

I think the idea was something where we could just slip it into a rather large cargo pocket, or fit it in a glove compartement. Letter sized is only slightly smaller than the current version. I'm sticking with 5x7.5 as the optimum, 'course, others may have different ideas.
