My ideal deffinition for TTRPG is "Every player has fun and feels like they meaningfully contributed every session."

Baldur's Gate Countdown Ends... Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for Summer 2012

Wonderful! I'll be able to finish my current play through by the time this comes out.

    John Carter

Saw it last night. Really enjoyed it. Not the most involving film ever but I felt it was well paced and didn't beat you over the head with spelling things out over and over again. For me it was worth a trip to the theater. My only nagging question is. On Mars they use torches for their light...

    Classes you play the most

Rogues or fighters or maybe even figher/rogues. I've always liked the idea of the skillful warrior even if dnd dosn't do the best job of representing it.

    Basic 20: An OGL experiment

B20 Spells and Magic Spells in Basic 20, unlike regular D20, are divided into just 2 levels. The first, weaker spells, are called cantrips and the more powerful are just called spells. Both spells and cantrips occupy a spell slot. Once a spell is cast it is lost from the memory of the caster...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Next weekly art column!

I'm not really sure what you mean by 4e style. But I don't really feel that Jason Chan's art is it. He is an extremely good professional artist whose style blurs the line between north american and japanese comic styles while still showing a strong tradtional art background. The man has skills.

I would like to see more art by Jason Chan. Jason Chan Art And since he has already done work for WoTC they should know how to get in touch with him.

Novels with extensive D&D-style ruin/dungeon exploration?

The Deeds of Paxanarion by Elizabeth Moon has a ruin exploration or 2 in it IIRC. Plus its probably one of the best DnD feeling books ever!

Have you ever been a dick player?

Yep! In hindsight its another "I should have left the game earlier things." But they were/are my friends. Usually I DM but one of my pals said he had a campaign all set up and asked us to play. Being friends we agreed and so started to play. The problem is around every corner the DM found some...

    Medieval Equipment VS D&D Equipment

If that's the case I'd say most anything that's not obviously a fantasy weapons would be available. Full plate, rapier and maybe heavy crossbow might be the only other ones. Though there are examples of armor made of metal plates back to before Christ. Like I said before with crossbows also...

    Basic 20: An OGL experiment

Hey guys thanks for your replies! paladinm I've actually been developing this idea for nearly a year. So I am pretty set in my ways at this point and probably am not going to switch to a 2 class system. Though such a system has merit I am trying to evoke a retro feeling by using the four...

    Medieval Equipment VS D&D Equipment

Yes they have. I'm not saying these things didn't or couldn't exist at that time. I was under the impression that the OP was looking for a list of equipment that adheres as closely as possible to what would be found in the real world early middle ages Europe. That means Lorica Segmetata has...

    Medieval Equipment VS D&D Equipment

I dunno a quick perusal of wikipedia (not the most accurate of info I know :S) kind of makes me think that the standard equipment list is fairly accurate for medieval times. There are long swords in essence, if not name. Crossbows seem to have been around for centuries before the middle ages...

"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" or "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning"?

Both games I found to be entertaining and you'll probably end up getting 60-100 hours out of either one. Which, for me anyway, means that the purchase was worth it. If you have played any previous Elder Scroll games than you should enjoy Skyrim. It's more of the same only better. I didn't...

    Basic 20: An OGL experiment

HA! I am already using small font. But I would like it to be readable and I'm not sure under 50 pages, plus using a magnifying glass counts. Today's offering is the Thief. Where the fighter no only incorporates fightery stuff plus a good helping of warlord/barbarian things. The Thief takes a...

I say no. If you don't know how to properly use something you can't use it properly. Hence no bonuses.

    Custom Class: The Prescience Warrior

I really like the idea of this class and it seems like it could work. I especially like the class specific powers, but I think they could use some more ways that they could be augmented. Just because they don't seem to have access to any psionic powers outside of these few. Specifically...

    Basic 20: An OGL experiment

True its gonna be tight. But I am cheating a little and using 2 columns so that frees up some space. It is definitely a challenge though.
