Which D&D Campaign World did you enjoy most?

Like the original post, my favorite _official_ D&D campaign setting is Planescape. In particular I liked the metaphysical debates on the nature of reality and the various philosophies of the Factions and sects. To me it felt like a more mature and grown up game setting which was what I was...

    non-4e D&D Players . . .

No. Despite the attempt to capture some of the flavour of earlier versions of the game it's not enough to get me interested in playing WoTC 4E. My gaming group tried 4E for a bit and decided that it just wasn't what we wanted for a D&D game. Elements doesn't look like it's going to change...

IDW announces new "Dungeons & Dragons" comic series

There was also a Planescape comic that was part of the Hellbound Box Set.

    AP questions

I believe the pre-pathfinder adventure paths (Rise of the Runelords, Curse of the Crimson Throne, Second Darkness, Legacy of Fire) effectively assume the fast advancement track.

D&D 3.x 3.5 E, older D&D and Pathfinder. What do D&D vets think of pathfinder

    1. I've been playing since way back (started with AD&D in 1980). Our group quite enjoys Pathfinder. Prior to playing Pathfinder we had been mostly playing 3.5 with a very brief foray into 4E. I wouldn't say Pathfinder feels like "classic" D&D. It feels a lot like 3.5, only cleaned up and...

    Where do you buy books?

I purchase mostly online these days, but that wasn't true just a few short years ago when I tried to purchase most things from a local game store. What changed for me was : A) The local stores that carried RPG materials closed so the closest one is now a 6 hour drive away. When out of town...

Pathfinder 1E Is PAIZO becoming the next Wizards?

It always makes me a little bit sad every time I read that one of the major factors for the demise of TSR is the multiple settings. I'm not disputing the fact, but the thing is I loved all those 2E settings and I still consider that period before the fall as one of the golden periods of D&D...

Pathfinder 1E Is PAIZO becoming the next Wizards?

Nah, I see what Paizo has done as being analogous to a forked open source software project. WoTC converted the main project to closed source plus they made many significant and controversial (to many) changes, so Paizo forked the 3.5 OGL version to keep the original project alive. Why should...

Pathfinder 1E Is PAIZO becoming the next Wizards?

Oh man, now you reminded me how much I miss Avalon Hill. Still have my old well worn games of theirs. Nothing like those multi-week Third Reich games.

    What setting are you using?

I've been using Golarion for the two Pathfinder games I've been running : Rise of the Runelords and Curse of the Crimson Throne. Although I initially wasn't as taken with Golarion as other campaign settings, it certainly saved a lot of time to use Golarion for the AP. Golarion has grown on...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Modules (non-AP) What are the best

I'd have to agree with Wes. I was quite impressed with Carrion Hill (and yes, I do like a little Lovecraft Horror in my FRPG).

    More Bribery! Google Wave Invites!

How old is your computer? The oldest computer I've tried using Google Wave on was an old Pentium III (800 MHz) running Fedora(Linux). Wave worked for me there, but it started to get a bit laggy after a while.

Products you'd love to see published (but probably never will)

I'd like to see where things were going post faction war. Of course the original team is now gone from WoTC so that means it's not something we'll ever see. I do believe that there will eventually be a 4E version of Planescape (assuming the 4E run lasts long enough) but I suspect it will be a...

Products you'd love to see published (but probably never will)

That would certainly be near the top of my list for sure. I'd love to see a Pathfinder version of Planescape, or failing that, a system neutral updated version of Planescape.

D&D 3.x Pathfinder XP in Converted 3.5 Adventures

With the Beta Pathfinder Rules you definitely want to use the fast progression if you don't intend to add some of your own material in between adventures to bring the characters up to the recommended level for the next adventure in the sequence (assuming it is part of an adventure path). I...

How were you introduced to RPGs?

I ended up voting "Through another type of game" although via friends would also be true. During junior high days I was really into wargames and miniature gaming. I had read an article in MacLeans magazine about the rise in popularity of gaming at the time with the mention of D&D which I...

    Subtle Rule Changes

The rules for stabilizing after falling to negative hit points have changed. Gone is the old 10% chance per round to stabilize. Now you must make a DC 10 Constitution Check (applying your negative hit point total as a penalty).

    Pathfinder 1E Updated Pathfinder Chronicles?

With regard to what liitle crunch that does exist in the main Pathfinder Chronicles setting book, has anyone looked yet at whether any of that crunch is at oldds with the final copy of the Pathfinder Rules? In particular, I'm thinking of the class customization options that appears within the...

Pathfinder 1E [Pathfinder] Planning on switching to Pathfinder?

Looking over the last year, our group had three campaigns underway : - a 4E campaign that is currently on long term hiatus. - a pair of Pathfinder Beta test campaigns. I imagine that the Beta Pathfinder campaigns will switch to the final Pathfinder version of the rules, but it's possible...
