I read it as general terms. I don't know any more about the DI than you guys, but I'd imagine that there will be information forthcoming long before the end of the year.

This is one of the better explanations I've heard for why the timing of this announcement was necessary the way it was done. I hadn't thought about it, but the format definitely impacts a lot on why Paizo needed this time and Wizards doesn't have as much information yet.

I don't think this decision hurts game designers at all. Erik Mona already expressed interest in an entire book (or perhaps books) of just new talent. I can't speak for WotC's online program (because I know no more about it than you do), but I think Paizo will probably still continue to accept...

I don't receive a salary as I'm not an employee of the company. I do know the salary ranges - at least what they were offering back in 2005 - but I can't say anything about that.

I think you should contact customer service. The job program is really finicky and your whole profile can be missed due to technicalities.

We can't really reveal that, but it's certainly the top of the industry. I only know because of that first interview process.

Thanks! I agree about the competition, but I'm in the reverse of your position. The development job is the one I really want the most. I'd be happy to have the design job, but development would be my first choice. Hopefully we can both get what we want.

Paizo should definitely make some sort of plushy toys out of these goblins. They belong right next to plushy Cthulus. They're hideously cute!

I applied for the position a couple of weeks ago. Mike beat me out for the development position a couple of years ago (and rightfully so), but I'm hoping I have a good shot at it this time.

I think it's innacurate to attribute this (or any major company decision) to a single person. The brand manager is not a taskmaster that controls every aspect of what happens in the brand. There are numerous other people, other factors, and other plans in the works that bring about a decision...

If you're really powergaming, you don't want to be a 16th level sorcerer at all. You want one or more prestige classes because other than familiar advancement (which can be rectified with a feat if it's important to you), sorcerers gain absolutely nothing by staying in their base class.
