What did you do during TSR's dark days of '97

Edit: Deleted, I'm just teasing Keith and looking for a pity party. :P

What did you do during TSR's dark days of '97

Technically, TSR never went bankrupt. It was bought by WotC before that happened.

    Angels and Demons oh my!

Unfortunately, no, just some very brief stuff. Apparently I worked out a lot of it on paper at the last minute and didn't type it in for my records. :( Well, there is a small section about using the book's materials in Egyptian, Norse, or other settings, and IIRC it also talks about how in...

    Angels and Demons oh my!

Well, Anger of Angels was certainly inspired in part by In Nomine. Obviously I couldn't convert the IN angelic races because of copyright issues, but there are some things in common (IN has Words, AOA has dominions, for example). If you'd be willing to convert the races, it wouldn't be that hard...

Tell me about Path of the Magi

I don't have the most recent chat log posted, but here's the link to the previous chat about the book. Hopefully that'll answer some of your questions: http://www.seankreynolds.com/rpgfiles/misc/chatpotm111203.html

    Worst 3.5 publishers?

Darrin.... The d20 license has not created competitors to WotC. No d20 publisher's books could ever really _compete_ with WotC. The sales numbers aren't even in the same league. The d20 license created an _opportunity_ for other companies to grab some of the money that's small enough to slip...

    Dragon 315: "The Suits"

Well, the Blumes were gone when I joined TSR in '95 (the year Birthright came out) and I think they had been gone for at least a couple of years before that, but you'd have to ask Ted, Monte, Thomas, or Rich to be sure.

I don't recall doing that, but do I remember it being said by someone.

    GenCon SoCal Post Thoughts

I almost literally ran into him on Saturday morning walking from the con center to the hotel where my seminar was taking place. I remember thinking, "Wait, that scruffy guy on the cell phone looks awfully familiar...." So in a way you could say it's my fault, he was afraid of the tall skinny...

Today is a sad day: Fallout 3

No official comment on the status of Van Buren (not that I'm a guy to make official comments, in any case). This should not affect BGDA2 at all, it's done and they just need to get the CDs made, AFAIK. The game's been done for at least a month now.

Today is a sad day: Fallout 3

There are still about 15 of us at Black Isle, including me. No announcement yet about projects or the role of the BIS name in future Interplay efforts. I'm not in a position to give more info, but I do enjoy shooting down inaccuracies in rumors.

Rich Redman: Why licensed properties suck

I'll chip that working on a licensed product sucks. Especially if the licensor is being petty (as in the "stopped dead in its tracks" case that Rich mentioned but didn't describe in detail, I was at WotC when that happened and it stunned all of us). And they can be really petty about stupid...
