    Ghostwalk question

I'll send them an email about the darkvision mistake. As for the map, that was somehow left out, and WotC is trying to track down the map and have it posted on their site. It won't be part of the web enhancement ... as far as I know it'll be a separate item.

    Ghostwalk question

Ah, see, the spreadsheet I used to build those characters automatically gives any creature darkvision if you set its type to "outsider" (it doesn't understand how templates work and about ability inheritance). I didn't catch that, they technically shouldn't have it. Good eye!

    Ghostwalk question

Being fully manifested doesn't affect your ability to use those feats. When you possess the target, your body (whether manifested fully or incorporeal) vanishes. A ghost's body isn't really a true body, it's just a ectoplasmic construct automatically created by the presence of a bodiless soul...

    Ghostwalk question

{I assume then also (I'll read more) that since it's incorporeal that it can also move through solid objects, though it can't see while in them, right?} Correct, just like the normal incorporeal rules. {Also, I noticed that Ectoplasm disperses in 10 minutes. It didn't mention any difference in...

    Ghostwalk question

{I know that ghost in this campaign can't fly normally without the feats needed to accomplish it. However, can they move through water at their normal speel or do they face the same type of resistance?} If incorporeal, a ghost can fly or move through water at its normal speed. If manifested, a...

    Got Ghostwalk!

Ouch. If that's true (I just flipped through my copy and I think you're right), that's a goof. The book was originally going to have a poster map of the city, with a smaller (1/2 page) panel showing the nearby countries. When the poster map was cut, the city maps became interior maps, but it...

    [3.5] The Die Hard Feat

Re: Re: [3.5] The Die Hard Feat Not quite. See, Remain Conscious is (IMO) probably one of the most useless feats in an official WotC book. It requires 3 feats (Endurance, Iron Will, Toughness) and it allows you to take a partial action every round at -1 hp to -9 hp (you still lose 1 hp every...

    [FR] Slave prices in Thay

Off the top of my head I can't remember the exact reasoning we used to get the 75-150gp figure in the FRCS, but it's based on the average pay of a common laborer: 1 sp. I think it went something like this: You own a slave for a year, that's 365 days of work, or effectively 36.5 gp worth of...

Though Davidson's book is frustrating in its own way.... (I used it as a source for Malhavoc Press' Anger of Angels.)

Ghostwalk: Are you going to buy it?

Not quite. It was more of a Hasbro "we're not interested if we can't make a TV show out of it." And there were at least three people interested in buying it from WotC while it was shelved. I'm just happy it's been printed. It really would suck to have it lost after putting all of that work...

    rpg designer opening at wizards

Not true. In fact, it is illegal to do so (because of Microsoft doing that very thing so they could have contractors without paying benefits, and a judge ruled against them).

    Ivid the Undying

IIRC, Carl Sarget got in a very serious car accident in the mid-90's (not long before I started at TSR) and I think he's been largely unable to work and/or focusing on recovering from that.

[FR] Just what is a shrine?

The FR definition of shrine/temple/cathedral is in the FRCS on page 236: "The second paragraph describes the deity’s church. This overview explains if the church is organized or casual, hierarchical or independent, prominent or secretive. The common duties of the clerics and members of the...

    Ghostwalk 3.0 or 3.5?

Since (in the context of existing campaign settings) it's intended to be a fairly remote location or at least a place that is mysterious and legendary, your group could take a journey to its location or could almost stumble upon it, depending on which way you want to go. I would rather the...

[3.5E] New Revision Spotlight - Mummy and Mummy Lord

I had the impression (based on conversations I've had and discussion on my boards) that metamagic was little-used. In Monte's campaign, between the two groups, one character (a sorcerer) had a metafeat (he actually had two), but three had item creation feats.

[3.5E] New Revision Spotlight - Mummy and Mummy Lord

To clarify, I did mean "bard and sorcerer" above. And yes, the bard and sorcerer "pay" more that wiz and cleric because it takes longer for them to cast metamagicked spells (yes they gain the versatility, but the cost-of-use cost is still higher compared to those who don't have to long-cast)...

[3.5E] New Revision Spotlight - Mummy and Mummy Lord

Let me restate in a different way: 1) 3.0 metamagic is a waste; you have to "pay" for it twice (once by taking the feat, once by using a higher-level spell slot), and it's much less effective for 2 spellcasting classes (bard and rogue). The revised metamagic was well-received among the staff at...
