Behir Art work looks like a rocking horse...

Yeah, that's one of the few good MM2 illos. ;)

Behir Art work looks like a rocking horse...

I always liked the cover art from S4: The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, which is where the behir first appeared. I just sold a copy of this adventure so I have the cover scanned. I'm going to take it down soon (as it's sold and I don't need a photo reference) so grab it here quick if you want it...

Hungry Little Monsters - Funds go to charity

I believe the designer of that monster wanted to create something that looked somewhat like a phantom fungus.

Your preferred name for the Queen of Spiders

Lolth is the official name of the goddess in GH and FR. Lloth is a goof by RA Salvatore (love ya, Bob!) that the novels editors didn't catch or correct for quite some time. Later novels explained it (by a sage encountering Drizzt) as a variant name local to Drizzt's home city of Menzoberranzan...

Why no WOTC support for Greyhawk?

Note also that originally with 3E the RPGA was going to have a budget for releasing (to stores) one sourcebook a year updating with the campaign world with regional info and other stuff specifically relating to the setting. Of course, RPGA suffered its regularly-scheduled budget cuts and that...

    Pregenerated Character Set?

Take a look at my book Skreyn's Register: The Bonds of Magic: http://www.montecook.com/cgi-bin/page.cgi?mpress_Bonds Edit: Ah, sorry, I reread your post and realize now you were looking for a _site_. In that case, there are quite a few PCs at various levels on my site's RPG/Characters page...

    Ape/human Hybrids!

Well, I don't know what "article" you're referring to, as you quoted my entire Google search for the term. :)

    Ape/human Hybrids!

See also Google: Humanzee. FYI there's an orc-ape crossbreed called the losel, which I wrote up for one of the Living Greyhawk Journal magazines.

    D&D terminology pet peeves

Here's one for the Greyhawk fans. I was at a Greyhawk seminar at Gen Con a few years ago (1997 or 1998, I think) and I and the other panelists got a strange question from a guy in the audience. See, in the World of Greyhawk, the human cultures have distinct racial origins. The Suel humans are...

    D&D terminology pet peeves

And as I point out in my rant on that subject, it doesn't matter if you're using it in casual conversation, but when you're using game text it makes a difference and you should be a little more strict. "This necklace gives the wearer a +1 resistance bonus against enchantments" means one thing...

San Diego - good OOP game stores?

I remember being a 10-year-old kid going to Game Towne and digging through the back issues bins of Dragon and saving up to buy some of the "really old ones" (issues 50-59 or so). This was back when "Sorcerer's Apprentice" was still published (it's a T&T magazine).

San Diego - good OOP game stores?

If you're still in the area, try Game Towne in the Old Town part of San Diego (north of downtown on the 5, take the Old Town exit, it's on Harney Street in old town).

    D&D/D20 Vampires and Werewolves...

Almost repeating the post I just made in another thread, I'm doing some stuff with lycanthropes in Curse of the Moon and other stuff with vampires in a not-quite-announced future book.

    LA+0 Vampires and Werewolves

I'm addressing low-LA lycanthropes in Curse of the Moon and low-LA vampires in a later book. In the meantime, perhaps you could check out my LA +4 fleshbound vampire template? It's a step in the right direction....

We figured out what d12's are for!

I know what you're talking about but don't know where to find that type. However, Crystal Caste offers a different kind of rollable d4 that's good (and if you're diabetic like my dad and get numbness in the fingers, it's easier to pick up these d4s than the pyramidal ones).

So what would I need to start a Greyhawk game?

Good question. Large areas of WoG remained undeveloped except for a paragraph or two all through 1st and 2nd edition AD&D. Ditto for many of the deities (at least half of them got no official support material other than the one-line entry in the 83 box that gave name, alignment, portfolio, and...

So what would I need to start a Greyhawk game?

That's the D&D Gazetteer, actually. The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer is 128 pages. The D&D Gaz is basically a stripped-down version of the LGG.

    WotC release schedule thru 2005

FYI, Champions of Valor draws on some of the BOED, but it's much more than just "the Book of Exalted Deeds translated to/crammed into FR." It does spend some time talking about what it is to be a valorous hero in FR (rather than just a good character), but it also gives a bunch of new feats...
