    4E Druid Info

I have a theory about that. See, people thought "I" = Inquisitor, a divine striker, and "T" = Theurge, a divine controller. The fact that Inquisitor was a really dumb name didn't seem to faze them. I think that, in actual fact, "T" used to stand for something like Templar, a divine striker...

    PHBII Classes Confirmed

In what sense is this true? The paladin has been a holy knight ever since Gary Gygax took the specific inspiration for the class from Poul Anderson's Three Hearts and Three Lions. It's certainly accumulated more overt divine magic since then, but it has always been associated with divine power...

    PHBII Classes Confirmed

I understand the words you use, but your statement makes no sense.

December Playtests: Druid, Invoker, AV2, and Mercykillers! (merged)

I notice on the 12th, there, "Lords of Chaos: Mual-tar". Demonomicon-style series on Primordials, perhaps?

    Information on Druids

More like they didn't want to have to keep replacing it. Most cultures prefer to build in stone once they have the ability to do so simply because it's less work. The druids didn't show up until long after all of it. They didn't build the earth mound, they didn't build the small stone circle...

    Information on Druids

The people who built Stonehenge were, it may be a surprise for you to learn, not as technologically advanced as the people who built the Great Pyramid. The point is that Stonehenge definitely dates back to well before the period of time in which there were druids in Britain (or Gaul), and in...

    I'm a Cleric of...

I'm not playing a cleric right now, but my dragonborn rogue is a fairly devout follower of the Raven Queen.

D&D: big as it ever was? (Forked Thread: So...How are Sales of 4E Product?)

You are strikingly ignorant of the facts. Courtney Solomon bought the rights to make a Dungeons & Dragons movie from TSR, well before Wizards of the Coast bought TSR. Well before Hasbro bought Wizards of the Coast, too! Blaming Wizards of the Coast for the crappy film is ridiculous; they...

    Commitment

Real tattoos of the Symbol of Torment I'll probably get a tattoo of the Symbol of Torment myself, one day, as well as a dragonmark from Eberron.

Have you seen an Aboleth in game?

I've played a game where we fought an aboleth. My barbarian was nearly taken over by its slime.

    Information on Druids

Frankly, what you're asking for just doesn't exist. We have Gaius Julius Caesar's comments on them in his writings, we have a few later Roman sources, and a little bit of archaeological evidence - but there are no written sources from Gaulish or British peoples.

    Dragonomicon: Dracolich Mongrel

Dracoliches have been made from unwilling dragons for decades. It's a long-established practice of the Cult of the Dragon in the Forgotten Realms, for instance, to trick or force dragons into becoming dracoliches controlled by the cult.

    Do you like modrons?

I like modrons. However, I strongly feel that only rogue modrons should be presented as being "funny" - they're meant to be off-kilter because of their condition, so having them amusingly obsessed with cataloguing facial expressions or whatever is fine. Normal modrons, however, should be more...

    Cross-gender PCs

Like I said upthread, I haven't played a cross-gender PC long-term. So my objection is based less on what I want to play, and more on what a rule against cross-gender PCs says about the GM or the group as a whole - which is to say, at the very least, they have very different ideas about what's...

Your Dicebag and You. What makes a perfect Dicebag

I actually don't like dicebags - I prefer using a small Tupperware container, because I can get the dice I want out of it much more easily. I also have it packed to the gills, so it rattles much less than a bag.

    Cross-gender PCs

Lots of people don't choose to play a given PC based on what they fantasise about being. I have never in my gaming life played an idealised version of myself, or played someone with whom I particularly identified, or played someone who had a life I wished I could have. I get that a lot of...

On Whether to Get the GF Involved or Not

I agree that it creates a different dynamic. I just don't enjoy it enough to seek it out - certainly not in preference to hanging out with more of my good friends.
