    DM Cheating

Zimri- Oh, how will you overcome this dilemma? Wait-- I know! You can just get together around the table and tell campfire stories (compelling ones, natch)! That will save money on buying those pesky dice and rules books! Who needs games statistics, when you have pure imagination and...

    DM Cheating

First, a disclaimer: I strongly suspect that my idea of a "fun game" would not match yours, eyebeams, so we might have to just agree to disagree. That said, I am puzzled by your central premise, as I understand it. You seem to be saying that while an average result (in micro for a particular...

    DM Cheating

This is a pretty darn cool post, Moogle. I completely get your point and entirely agree with your argument. Mind you, I would sooner pull out my toenails one by one with my teeth than *play* such a game, but that's just me. Your point is still dead-on right! ;)

    DM Cheating

For me, D&D is pretty darn close to perfect run as written. Even in the case of those oddball rules that always cause debate (e.g. flurry of blows and natural weapons, grappling, sniping, etc.) as long as the group agrees how it plans to handle them, there should really be no cause for fudging...

    druid/rogue PrCs?

It is not exactly what you are looking for, but the Foculan Lyrist PrC meets some of your needs-- it is more about the Bard/Druid mix, but requires some Rogue as well. I think it is in Complete Adventurer, too.

    LA +0 drow

Klaus- Your lesser drow looks pretty good, but I have two balance questions for you to consider: 1. Rather than Weapon Proficiency for the drow-specific exotic weapons, Weapon Familiarity might be better balanced (as with dwarves, etc.) As written, classes with normally only simple weapons...

Chicago Gameday XVII Planning Thread: June 30th is our date

I getcha. Honestly, I read it more as a kind of 'Captain Caveman' ooo-ooo-ahh-ahh kind of campy game, but I can see how it could be done with serious intent. I see your point about disrupting the game, too-- I would guess that played straight, the game would rely heavily on versimilitude. I...

Staples refuses to print my PDFs....

Actually, yes-- I freakin' hate paying full retail price for books that I could almost certainly have bought cheaper online, only to find one of those d---- sticker tags permanently clamped onto a page or endpaper. That crap drives me crazy. And, for that matter, your post confuses me; it...

Chicago Gameday XVII Planning Thread: June 30th is our date

Nev- No offense, but it kinda does sound goofy. OTOH, it also sounds pretty entertaining to watch, even if you were not playing. :D (Would it be cheating to teach each other sign language, kind of like a sociologist experiment with apes?)

Chicago Gameday XVII Planning Thread: June 30th is our date

Thalmin- That sounds wildly cool. Yay, western RPGs! I miss Boot Hill. I put a pitch out to the good folks at Kenzer in the Hackmaster thread above, as well. Given the good buzz about the game from GAMA, I might just have to grab me one, pardner.

    HackMaster: The New Edition

Aces & Eights at Chicago GameDay Hey, Mark & Jolly! I dig KotDT a lot, but have not really checked out the rest of your products. But, I *really* like the idea of a solid western setting RPG. My buddy thalmin (proud owner and operator of the wonderful store that is Games Plus) is going to...

30 Years of Weird - Strangest Campaigns Ever

That just sounds like low-tech Everquest to me. (And just as boring.) :p ;)

30 Years of Weird - Strangest Campaigns Ever

I am intrigued by your ideas and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. :D Seriously, all those games sound *fantastic*! I especially like the Sci-Fi Medley.

    Rate Spider-Man 3

I thought it was great. I agree with the weaknesses cited above (well, except for the Hoover-suckage bit... I disagree with that..!) but generally, it was a solid flick. I really like the way that Raimi plays up Peter Parker's emotions, so the audience seems to feel the highs and lows right...

    Kuo-Toa Ranger/Cleric Build Advice?

Matafuego- Thanks! I will check out your NPCs! Here is the link to the WOTC article I mentioned: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20070503b&page=2 EDIT: Thoopshib the Mad Kuo-Toa rocks hard, dude! Thanks!

    Kuo-Toa Ranger/Cleric Build Advice?

Hiya! Inspired by the Kuo Toa Whip information in the recent WOTC web enhancement, I am thinking about a Kuo-Toa Ranger/Cleric build and would appreciate suggestions. (In fact, I might go even funkier and do a Ranger/Monk/Cleric using the Ranger/Monk multiclass feat from Complete Adventurer--...

    Improved Multiattack

It is SRD, so I will just post it here: IMPROVED MULTIATTACK [MONSTROUS] You are particularly adept at using all your natural weapons at once. Prerequisites: Three or more natural weapons, Multiattack. Benefit: Your secondary attacks with natural weapons have no penalty on the attack roll...

    OotS 446

Given that Rich seems to enjoy keeping 'em guessing about classes, I am instead voting for Dread Necromancer/Cleric/Mystic Theurge. But, of course, either way I am wondering why Mystic Theurge instead of True Necromancer. ;)

    Favored Soul

Epochrpg- I have noodled about a FS/Paladin character before. Would you mind posting some quickie build notes here (i.e. level progression, stat placement, feats, etc.)?

    Combating Burn-out

Danny- I'm that guy, too! But at least I acknowledge it. ;) Still, I do try to mix in the mad template, weirdo class combos, which I know that you appreciate from other threads. So, I guess, I have all Rangers-- but some of them are darn oddball Rangers. :D Sorry for the threadjack-- I...
