Why I love supers RPG'ing (and applying this to D&D)

Sweet, dude! Even better! "Form of... a Poodle! Shape of... an Ice Cube!"

Buzz- I call Demon Bat! I got dibs!

Speak to me of the "Dread Commando"

LOL Well, it is certainly not the answer that I would *hope* to hear, but that does look like what the text implies, too. A Breastplate and Chain Shirt are shown in the examples. So, I guess, the Dread Commando is effectively stuck wearing light armor. That by itself is not so bad-- not worse...

Speak to me of the "Dread Commando"

Fieari- Thanks for the reply! Yes, that makes sense. So, even if he ducks out of sight (and of course he will) then the initiative order stays as established. Got it, cool. I did look again at the example characters of the Dread Commando (one a Rogue/DC and the other a Ranger/DC) but it is...

Speak to me of the "Dread Commando"

Hiya, ENWorlders! I finally got around to picking up the Heroes of Battle book, after finding that I really enjoyed the Heroes of Horror. So far, I must say, I thought the latter was much better than the former... but that is the subject of a different post! :) Anyway... one of the high...

What do you use for a character sheet?

DMGII Format I just print out a Word file formatted like the new stat blocks in DMGII. I love it, and find it very easy to use. All the other members of my game group think that I am insane for using it, though, and constantly berate me to use a "normal character sheet"! :)

    Monster Dice Bags

Here you go... http://www.dicegoblins.com/ FYI, they were also featured in last month's Dragon mag. If you ask nicely, I bet Reid will even make you a custom one!

Cavalier's code of conduct from Unearthed Arcana

More Threadjacking Madness! Counseler, I submit as evidence Defense Exhibit "A", showing TonyM's opinion about Paladins: http://zogonia.com/zogoniaarchive/zogonia031.html He is entirely right, of course. :)

Cavalier's code of conduct from Unearthed Arcana

Threadjack Alert! Tony- I see great fodder for Kev & Crew here... meeting up with Caine the Humble Monk (tm)! (Either that, or add Ninjas. My only compaint about Zognonia is not enough Ninjas.)

Are there any PrCs that give fighter BAB and a sneak attack progression?

Ghost-Faced Killer PrC from Complete Adventurer has full BAB with Sudden Strike progression. And yes, when all required conditions are met, Sneak Attack and Sudden Strike damage do both apply. (Generally, it is easier to get a Sneak Attack than a Sudden Strike, so when you get the latter you...

    Dread Necromancer

I was wondering if I would see a discussion of the Dread Necromancer here! :) Personally, I think the class has great style, but I wonder if it is a bit underpowered. My two main concerns: 1. To really get the most out of the various touch effects, the DN will have to be up close and personal...

    Help Me Build a Weirdo

That is freakin' awesome. Thanks for all the ideas, guys. I am still stymied about what I might play- all this weirdness does give me a sense of how tough it might be to role-play a true weirdo PC. (I do like the Pepe concept, though. That, I could do. LOL)

    Help Me Build a Weirdo

Danny- Yeah, yeah, yeah! Go, Danny, go! I knew the great minds of ENWorld (tm) could make a weirder weirdo than I could find on my own! Still, some of your bizarro suggestions reminds me that I should add a caveat: I would prefer a character that is at least *somewhat* playable, even if not...

    Help Me Build a Weirdo

Yep, that's right, a weirdo. I am thinking of an alternate character for the Age of Worms campaign I am about to start, and guessing that I will need one with the PC death rate in the Paizo campaigns. LOL Anyway, my very general- and sometimes contradictory- ideas include the following: *...

What d20 author do you buy sight-unseen?

(In no particular order, these are guys whose stuff I just plain buy- whatever it is!) *Ari Marmell *Steve Kenson *Mike Mearls (These are more guys whose stuff I strongly consider out of the box.) *Monte Cook *Sean K. Reynolds

    The Dragon Compendium

I am *really* looking forward to this book. I have it on pre-order with my FLGS! I am really excited to see Matt Cavatta as an interior artist. I wish WOTC used him more for its books, too. Joe- Dead Eye is pretty sweet, but the BAB +14 requirement is a major balancing element! :)

Chicago Gameday XII is over... share the memories!

Holy Moley! Well, if there is a slot open in "Against the Giants", I just plain cannot pass it up. I will claim traffic delays to my wife to explain my extended absence, and you will just have to back up that story, Buzz. Sign me up for: Game 5: Against the Giants 6. Quickbeam- I am very...

    Sublime Chord/Bard/Ranger

Your skill points are going to be your biggest obstacle, as far as I can see. Increasing your INT will give you more points, but (unfortunately) does not do so retroactively for earlier levels as raising your CON would. You might try to talk your DM into bending that rule for you... that would...

Animal Companion for Ranger 2/Druid X?

It would be balanced to do it that way, but probably a poor decision for the character. The problem is that the Druid's companion would be weaker than it 'should' be for his level, and the Ranger's compaion would be near-useless for the same reason. The only case where this might make...

Chicago Gameday XII is over... share the memories!

Buzz- Well, I will not be able to stay long, but I have wively dispensation to attend GameDay in the morning! Whee! Since I will not be able to play a full morning game, I will join you and Jon to do some painting. I get to use Jon's high-quality paints! Cool. Sign me up for: Game 4...
