    Barbarian Playtest Experiences

Well, consider what you are giving up to have it I suppose. 1) You're not getting the extra 1d6 damage that Howling Strike deals (unless you're raging). 2) You're not getting the temp hit points from Recuperating Strike 3) Unless you're human, choosing Pressing Strike means you're giving up...

Word of Mearls: Official Player races will not get Oversized Weapons. Forked Thread

I betcha that Goliaths still get oversized weapons, but at the cost of any other good racial ability.

    Barbarian Playtest Experiences

I found mine to be incredibly delicate. 14 Dex, so with Hide he's only 1 AC behind Chainmail. I was a yo-yo, flipping between unconcious and unbloodied as fast as the cleric and warlord could heal me. Did some nice damage though. Was fun, and a change of pace from the cleric and warlock I...

Need a few vague prophetic references

Or a row of cultivated vegetables, or some of ther form of vegetation "enslaved" by man.

Need a few vague prophetic references

You could give it a plant theme: Sapling/seedling for baby Trimmed hedge for slave, unfettered growth for escaped slave Ivy or some sort of coiled vine for a crown (like what Frodo and Sam see on the road to Mordor) Doorway is less straightforward - some sort of arch maybe? Poison ivy has three...

    Playtest Barbarian Updated ?

I can say for certain that the powers from level 1-10 were completely unchanged - I typed them out onto cards from the original when it came out, and compared to the "final" when it came out - no changes.

    Disappointed in 4e

Worst case for melee types - it shouldn't get much more stale than "full attack".

Dragon 368 - First Subscription Issue

That's how I interpreted it, and how I voted. I'm just pretentious about language :)

Dragon 368 - First Subscription Issue

Like the previous poster, I am mostly after the electronic tools, but have been satisfied with Dragon as well. I don't know if I would say it is "well worth" it, but it is certainly "worth" it.

    Let's read the entire run

"Hey, DM, how many bedrolls did you say those bandits had? And how much are they worth?" lol

    Let's read the entire run

That damn chart... We had a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of that chart. And used it all the time. How many times can you chop of your own foot in one day? lol

When did I stop being WotC's target audience?

All I can say is, imagine the nerd rage if instead of 4E we had gotten "3.6! The same basic game, but juuust different enough that you have to buy the books again!"

What do you like for implements for a wizard?

Most people take Orb for the second power, the one that gives a penalty to saves.

4E Battlemaps and semi realistic buildings?

Heck, I've been in parties where we've done everything we could to arrange for bottlenecks of our own - a nice 10' hallway, with Swordmage and Battle Cleric in the front, ranger and warlock in the middle, and wizard in the back. Super easy for everyone to do their jobs unmolested.

    Barbarian Playtest Experiences

I'm imagining something similar. As long as there is a good Defender nearby (good build AND good player), that is. I can imagine some horrible splats on the barbarian's end without a good team around him.

    Power Cards or Sheets?

I do a combination, really. I print and cut out cards, then stick them in collectible card sheets rather than individual card protectors. I use the Grandpa cards from here on ENWorld, but I find that I've been mostly just using the template and customizing my own rather than using any premade...

    Barbarian Playtest Experiences

That's a useful thing to hear - I've been agonizing over which two At-Wills to take for the barbarian I'll be starting up in a couple of weeks. So far I've been tentatively been thinking of Howling and Recuperating, while looking longingly at the shift one. I'll be playing a warforged, so...

What's the most significant difference you've found with 4e from 3e?

Exact same thing for me, except ages 16/33 rather than 14/31. :P

"Trap Schmap. I've got Magic Missle..."

The implementation of traps is the only major problem I have with 4E. As a DM I would tend to avoid using them, and be aware that if I did use them, they wouldn't have the standard impact. When I play, we NEVER deal with traps in any other way than direct damage. In fact, we will often ignore...
