    Forked Thread: Commanding allies

Conversely, I reckon that the "sack of rats" clause *does* apply in this case.

    Dwarven Fighter Discussion

You might find that a shield makes you more useful to your party. Battleaxe and warhammer are pretty good dwarf shield-fighter options. Depends on if there is another defender in the party or not probably.

How would you keep 3.5 in print? (Forked Thread: WotC to Revise D&D 4th Edition GSL)

lol Have you ever been on the internet before? Good luck. :)

    4E is unacceptable

To be fair, the RPGA is actually explicitly mentioned (in a sidebar) at least once in the 4E PHB. It wasn't ever mentioned in any rulebooks in previous editions to my knowledge. Funny thing to have bother you, but different regardless.

D&D 4E New campaign, time to switch to 4e?

That's the one that would keep me personally away from it. Others might enjoy it more though...

    Winning Combinations

I'm pretty sure that any enemy hit with a power knows all of the effects of the power. Doesn't cover knowing everything but it does give enemies a lot of knowledge. The goblin might not know all of the details of his imminent demolishing, but he will know any of them that are the result of a...

New errata posted, stealth changes official

I'd probably buy a fixed PHB, but I'll sift through errata for the others...

    Immediate Interrupt vs Opportunity Attack

That is a nice trick. Gonna try it next session. :P Although, when your ready goes off, I think it becomes your turn, not the defender's turn - so the OA would probably still go off, wouldn't it?

IMPORTANT! Is your new Community Supporter Account not working?

First time CS here - my PayPal transaction was completed a month or so ago (the money is gone from my end), but I haven't heard anything. The email address on the PayPal account doesn't match the one on this ENWorld account, but I included my username in the PayPal notes... I also emailed...

    D&D 4E Cats vs Commoners, 4e Style

I wonder if this is a sign of upcoming errata for minions in general?

Thievery Skill - Trained vs Untrained

I actually quite like this, and will use something like it myself. Thanks. Big Mike

D&D 4E Handling things like Riding and Craft with 4E Skills.

I suppose I could just as easily take it the other way and ask why there aren't skills for walking, running, turning corners, sitting down, going up the stairs, sleeping, eating dinner, and picking your nose...

    Forced Movement and Walking Wounded

I would be willing to concede that "enter" and "leave" could maybe be involuntary, while "move" has to be intentional... Not sure yet though. :P

    Forced Movement and Walking Wounded

Would be similar at my table - you probably have to do the moving yourself to take the effects (thus nerfing some of these zones and the like - I followed some of the slide/push through a wall of fire arguments and still feel the same way). I know it's not a popular interpretation, and I am...

    New stealth stuff from WotC

I'm printing this picture. (Your house rules seem neat, but as I'm likely to be playing only RPGA games, they won't be of much use to me personally.)

    Forced Movement and Walking Wounded

In almost all cases, forced movement has no direct negative consequences (beyond being moved to a place you didn't choose yourself). I think that this is insight into the elusive "intent" of the rules. With that in mind, I'd say that there are two arguments that suggest that forced movement...

D&D 4E Handling things like Riding and Craft with 4E Skills.

Why in the world would feats, skills, and/or dice be involved with mundane riding?

Apparently Wizards are perfectly balanced :)

We've got two threads on the top page right now, one claiming that the wizard is the most powerful class, and one claiming that the wizard is the least powerful class. Seems to me that they might have got it just right, lol.

    Minions and Temporary Hit Points

I'm gonna have to go with specific (a minion dies if it takes damage) over general (monsters die when they reach 0 hp) in this case. Give a minion 200 temporary hit points, but it still dies when it takes damage. The resistance argument doesn't hold up for me - if the resistance reduces the...
