D&D 5E (2014) Running Rime of the Frost Maiden

I totally agree except for the bolded part. I'm not sorry one bit.

D&D 5E (2014) Running Rime of the Frost Maiden

What’s worse is all the posters I see not only defending this product, and in some cases, enthusiastically praising it. This is why we won’t see advances in the design quality coming out of WITC anytime soon.

D&D 5E (2014) Running Rime of the Frost Maiden

In his Patreon he's already summarizing some of his thoughts as pdfs. I don't know if this means he'll do a full on remix, or just piecemeal mods.

D&D 5E (2014) Running Rime of the Frost Maiden

I second the idea of waiting until the Alexandrian Remix.

D&D 5E (2014) A brief rant about Rime of the Frost Maiden, farming, logistics, and ecology

The Alexandrian's running Twitter comments on this adventure are a good read.

    Pathfinder 1E Solo Stealth Missions

Have a Potion of Invisibility handy if you need a quick getaway. Or better yet, be an Arcane Trickster. I'm running a PF1e campaign now, and one PC has achieved two levels in the Arcane Trickster PrC. He has a huge amount of options at his fingertips. But his character still spends a fair...

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Inspired by this thread I decided to give sone of my old FR paperbacks a reread. I realized I’m nowhere near as dedicated as Goonalan. I think I’ll continue to enjoy these novels (mostly) vicariously.

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

Yes. From what you've said, it sounds like there is a core issue of expectations of GM vs. expectations of the players, but these issues have bubbled over and it's become personal. If you as players have honestly and constructively raised your concerns and the GM ignores them, then it's...

    D&D 5E (2014) Bad Sage Advice?

Making Rare cards better than Uncommon which are better than Common cards is totally different from purposefully making bad rulings.’

    D&D 5E (2014) Bad Sage Advice?

If that’s true, my opinion of WOTC world drop even lower than it is now. SA is the technical authority on D&D. No technical authority should ever put out bad information just to make some sort of point. it’s entirely reasonable to state an area is a grey zone, and needs to be resolved on a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Bad Sage Advice?

    This is a terrible ruling.

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

Just finished a great session, except I killed off my new NPC within the first few minutes of the session. The party has been doing a fair bit of work for the local temple of Tyr, so when the party was needed for an urgent task I created what I thought would be an interesting, long term...

How Many GMs Run Multiple Games?

Weekly, I stick to one game, which is what I'm doing now. In the past when I had groups that could only do bi-weekly or monthly, I'd run two games.

    Tracking initiative

Small dry erase board. I think at one point I had a magnetic one with little magnetic nameplates. I've seen enough variants of the clothespin tracker to think it must be pretty useful. If I ever go back to in person gaming (highly doubtful) then I'd build something along these lines.

Pathfinder 2E Another Deadly Session, and It's Getting Old

So I read through these two rooms, and there are some things in the text that make me think the intention if the designers was for this to play out as two completely distinct encounters. Also, while it’s very clear the conditions to activate the hazard, the text is somewhat vague on who...
