That makes sense. It's the "during that period" phrase that leads me to believe that the bonus is only during the full-round action, which is confusing.

But you can place a fake wall in front of the door and vice versa. Not sure how making an illusionary boulder and hiding inside it violates the rules. Now, if you were to make a real boulder appear as a small rock, that would be against the rules.

Try picking up a Summon Monster spell. Cast Major Image of the monster first and send it out towards the bad guy. When they figure out it's fake, cast Summon Monster and see how long they'll ignore the second one :)

Your DM must make a lot of arbitrary decisions on the use of AoOs, flanking, cleave, sneak attacks, whirlwind attacks, cover, concealment, spell area coverage, etc. etc. I can imagine the misinterpretations by players for the above actions when they "see" the battlefield differently.
