I would think that it would be more "in the spirit" of Vow of Poverty for an ascetic cleric to have his holy symbol tatooed on the palm of his hand or another place that is easily seen.

When you determine wealth level for a character, do you add in the level adjustment? Would a 4th level aasimar paladin (ECL 5th) have 5,400 gold or 9,000 gold in wealth?

Yes, but animal growth doesn't work on the druid's familiar, since it is a magical beast.

Except for the fact that the first sentence of Summon Monster says this: "This spell summons an extraplanar creature (typically an outsider, elemental, or magical beast native to another plane)." :)

There are good reasons for good creatures to summon evil creatures. For instance, there is an ironic twist to seeing an evil creature do good for someone else by fighting other evil creatures for a good cause.
