    Ranger powers- is this correct?

At D&DXP, or actually a playtester who would've played beyond Lv. 1? From what I know, Rangers start with the same HPs and surges as the other strikers (before CON factors in).

    Ranger powers- is this correct?

Crimson Edge would say otherwise. Yes, that's a 9th-level daily, but that's just an example. Also, while Hunter's Quarry and Warlock's Curse are more versatile than Sneak Attack, indeed, also keep in mind that you can only target the enemy closest to you with those. Which means if the Ranger...

    Ranger powers- is this correct?

Yep, that's correct. I love it. Rangers look like they actually have potential now.

    Paladin. Disappointing

Please. You've been nothing but insulting in this entire thread. Even got warned about it once already, if I recall. Not to mention that you've had your ignorance long since called out. Word of advice: if you can't take the heat, don't jump into the furnace.

I don't need to be desperate to insult you. It's become far too easy for me to do so. I didn't read it because that's not what you said in the first place. On the other hand, apparently it's you who never read something. Namely, the character sheet for the Fighter, which says under Race and...

    Paladin. Disappointing

The Fighter was also one of the weakest classes in 3.x. There's a reason Book of Nine Swords was drafted in the first place, and there's a reason 4e is going in the same sort of direction. And in 3.x the Paladin was even weaker than the Fighter. As for magical, that just reveals the general...

    The Cleric Pregen

The example Cleric is certainly impressive. My No. 1 concern about the class in general is diversity within the class. For once, I'd like to have a Cleric class that allows you to make a flavorful, yet balanced but effective, servant of any deity, from a Sun-themed Cleric of Amaunator like the...

    Monsters from Xanth's Pictures

More forgiving, yes, but still quite threatening. I like it.

    Monsters from Xanth's Pictures

Hmm, so basically, "Save or Die" has become "Hit and Dying," but certain conditions must be met first before they're even dying. Interesting...

    Monsters from Xanth's Pictures

I'm none too fond of them myself, but personally I'll save that picture for if the double weapons (minus the quarterstaff of course) should sneak their way in.

It says "effect" on the power listing. I think that means regardless of hit or miss. If it were hit only, it'd be listed under the "hit" entry, methinks. Also, the old Paladin Smites article. It may be somewhat outdated by now (apparently Shielding Smite is what used to be Safeguard Smite), but...

    Paladin. Disappointing

Yup. Between the Fighter smacking lots of things up close and the Ranger more than likely getting some ranged multi-attack options as he levels up, I don't think an actual Martial Controller class will be necessary. Plus, every proposal of one I've seen so far has been extremely contrived and...

    Paladin. Disappointing

In comparison to the Paladin as a Defender, the Fighter seems to be deadlier and stickier up close, but the Paladin makes up for this by being deadlier and stickier outside the Fighter's melee range, and also being able to help allies that are a few squares away.

    Paladin. Disappointing

I think he's talking about the Ranger's Careful Strike, and not multiple attacks, but actually a greater chance to hit something. Also, Rangers can do more damage to a single enemy they designate a Hunter's Quarry. Warlocks, similarly with Warlock's Curse. Until you get to the Fighter's daily...

It's a hypothesis based on the facts we've gotten so far. Or maybe we have imaginations.

The Paladin was also one of the weakest classes in 3e.

Something where you roll a die to hit a defense. I don't see how much clearer you can get.

    Party Ambush!

No, actually I remember the 4e encounter philosophy being described as party vs. party, not party vs. solo.
