2 friends whom I met at church (one of whom is now a coworker), my wife, one guy I went to high school with (and subsequently lost touch with for 10 years), his wife, a guy who answered a call for players, and his wife. All of whom are friends now.
I woult arbitrarily rule that a "worthy opponent" is one against whom you cannot reasonably expect more than a 50-50 chance of defeating.
The perfect worthy opponent would be what pops out when you look into a Mirror of Opposition.
You don't have to tell the PC that his character is CE. Just treat him rules-wise like he is. Have him inexplicably be unable to enter a (properly Hallowed) good temple. Have paladins detect him. Stuff like that.
I see no reason for the hardness and hp of the weapon to change once it recieves the BE enchantment. It still weighs the same, it still deals slashing/blunt/piercing damage.
I think the composition of the metal from which the weapon is made remains unchanged. All that changes is how that metal...
Sure, I'd allow the PCs to make profit from the Wall of Iron spell. Hell, I'd let them do it dozens of times, getting less valuable each time, until they just barely break even.
Then a a few game months later, I'll send them on an adventure to the kingdom's most prosperous iron mining town...
I've been writing my SH in present tense, too. I like the sense of immediacy it lends the action. Thing is, I've gone through 7 years of training to write in past tense like everybody else. I keep slipping up and have to carefully edit everything just to make sure all the verbs are in order.
Not if a person, using True Seeing so they could tell what they were doing, applied a non-magical disguise to the simulacra. :D With a skill-boosting item, and hiring a specialist, you could probably get a +30 on the disguise roll. How many wizards put significant ranks in Spot?
Sounds like a...
Collect hair samples. Create Simulacrums to take the places of significant leaders. Have appropriate Misdirection spells so the Simulacrums will detect the same way their original wizards would have.
Yes, the encounter should have been designed better. I discovered in the course of 5 minutes what happens when you have 4 flying beasties with a 40' ranged touch attack that can be used every round, AND flyby attack, AND a meneuverability of Perfect, AND a decent intelligence.
I would presume not. The magic of the glove is not suspended when it's removed. Besides, it's cool to find Gloves of Storing with items in them already.
