When your DM asks you how many hit points you have left...

I.. urm... kind of accidentally killed an uninjured monk in one round. Player wouldn't tell me how many HP he had, and said to just tell him the damage. Thing was, he had just pissed off the lead member of a flock of arrowhawks, and I play encounters as though the monsters are rational thinking...

When your DM asks you how many hit points you have left...

The assumption is that he's going to fudge the numbers. Dice have been rolled, he looks down at them and makes a slight grimace, then hesitantly asks you how many HP you have left.

How do you take over a magical island?

I'd have them take over in more or less the same way Palpatine took over the Galactic Republic. Evil mages a) care about their own skin too much to risk it rashly, b) are very smart, and c) are very patient (well, that or they're dead).

When your DM asks you how many hit points you have left...

...do you tell him? Or do you just want to hear the bad news? Ultimately, the question is deeper - do you want your DM to fudge the dice to keep your character alive, especially in small encounters that weren't intended to be lethal? (poll upcoming)

    Sundering? Underrated?

Well you learn something new every day. Rather, Hypersmurf teaches you something new every day... :p

    Sundering? Underrated?

I'm not sure what the rules are on this, but if a character gets multiple attacks I require them to decide before rolling what sort of attack each one will be, and which opponent will be targetted.

What do you do with character sheets for slain characters?

Heh. I remember playing the old Curse of the Azure bonds on my friend's computer (if I remember correctly, it was a Commadore 64). To name our characters, we'd randomly mash our hands against the keyboard. The only reasonably pronouncable name was "TYRC." Every time we played a D&D computer game...

    Craft Construct Prerequisites?

Well, don't forget about his mentor... there's always a way to set up high-level nemesises from low level ones. :D

    The terms 'fluff' and 'crunch'

I always considered rule, or anything written in rules-ese (like feats and spells), to be crunch. Fluff is flavor text, descriptions of people and places, or examples. Everything in the SRD is pure crunch. The SRD is the D&D rules minus the fluff. It's a very dull read by itself.

    Craft Construct Prerequisites?

There's a PrC in the Kalamar PHB called "Golem Master" that gives bonuses specific to crafting constructs. Unfortunately, none of them are "crafts constructs at a reduced price," but still an interesting class.

What do you do with character sheets for slain characters?

My group has taken to pinning their dead character sheets to the wall, right underneith the poster-sized campaign map. They draw little gravestones with the dates of their existence on them and stuff. So far I've only killed two of their characters in this campaign, so it's not like I'm the...

    Simplified mass combat rules

This is a very cinematic approach that sounds like a lot of fun. However, it does make the presumption that the PCs are active participants in the battle.

    Hobgoblin Skills Errata?

Skill point and feat errors are relatively common.
