Hidden but Adjacent and attacking :)

No. What's more is that once you are hidden, if you have to move in order to attack you are no longer hidden unless you move 3, and then you need another roll.

    Help me utilise Dominated

I agree they can't, but in the example I cited, it's part of the at-will, not a separate power. It's a condition of the power itself. So, if the Warden PC is dominated and uses that at-will and hits an ally, that ally is indeed marked. If the ally goes before he warden, then he'll need to...

    Help me utilise Dominated

Well, it's not just an attack, but an at-will power. Some of those have a lot of extra things. Let's say you make the warden do a Warden's Lunge combined with a charge. Now the other PC (if hit) is marked by the warden. Depending on the initiative order, that's a -2 penalty on attack rolls...

    Help me utilise Dominated

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't understand that part of it, I guess. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway, how does this affect a warden? He might never attack an ally in the normal rules, but your change doesn't allow that initial free save vs. the dominate. I guess though, not allowing...

    Help me utilise Dominated

OnlineDM, I've seen enough of your posts to get the impression that you're a very competent DM. However, in general I wouldn't agree with your advice for less experienced DMs. So, if any such DMs out there are reading this, my word of caution is that players (meaning the friends of yours...

    Help me utilise Dominated

Even with the houserule that sneak attack works on an ally, the thief will be very hard pressed to gain combat advantage (he no longer flanks while dominated). Anyway, I would attempt to dominate the monk first, and then bard. By choosing not to target the bard because "he has a Will defence...

    Adventures You'd Like Produced

I do, too, but that is a completely separate issue than getting quickly to the point of the module. Or, even, points (for multiplotted modules). Any plot can be as gray (meaning morally) as you want. However, it should not be (IMO) ambiguous as to what the players need to do or should do as...

Battle Standard of Healing and Healer's Brooch: overpowered healing?

I agree with you. I didn't try to corroborate that Healer's Mercy is broken. I also don't think it is, having seen it in practice only just last night. It's very situational. Anyway, I was simply responding to it as an argument from someone else, trying to point out that BSoH is broken.

Battle Standard of Healing and Healer's Brooch: overpowered healing?

Your math has too many caveats to be believable, but at least thanks for reminding me about the specific part that causes this to be considered broken. It's certainly not the healing word, it's the powers that grant a surge to multiple party members at once. Healer's Mercy is irrelevant to the...

    Adventures You'd Like Produced

As a general style, I want a module that gets very quickly to the point. My players at least like very much to know immediately what the whole thing is about. Take Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, for instance. While it's a very long module, the point is very obvious from the get-go an...

Battle Standard of Healing and Healer's Brooch: overpowered healing?

That doesn't seem right. As mentioned earlier by Mengu, I just don't see it add up. Even if all PCs use a healing surge in one round, that's only +10hp per PC. That's not really that much extra and it has several caveats. What part of your math am I not following here?

D&D 4E The New Monster Math, Explained and Expanded

You can. I've done it several times on the trollhaunt thread. There's a button down below called "Manage Attachments." First you need to remove the old one, then upload the new one. Yes, I realize that this isn't the easiest interface, but it can be done.

    Rampant Anti-Groggism

Of course I did. Here, let me quote the relevant part of it for you, with my emphasis: "To that end, I've decided to compile a list ... of things about D&D, old-school and new-school alike, that I really honestly wouldn't mind seeing changed or even absent from 5th edition." His post...

This. A thousand times this. If I could give xp in tapatalk I would. The above, if adopted, makes the thread topic moot. :)

Nice job! I have to say though that the formatting bothered me so much, I reformatted it for myself. Let me know if you'd like me to re-post it here as a .docx.

    D&D 4E Help, I’m a Terrible (4E) DM

I don't think this was answered, but no. A natural 20 is always a hit, but if it wouldn't otherwise hit, then it's not a critical hit. The rules text: " If you roll a 20 on the die when making an attack roll, you score a critical hit if your total attack roll is high enough to hit your...
