Walls, line of sight, and obscuring terrain

Can you point to this rule? I know it's there for cover, but I can't find support for this within the on-line compendium. If it's only within the PHB, I guess I can't find it from here. The "determining cover" stuff is in the on-line compendium.

    Dead Saving Throw

(In the voice of Maxwell Smart...) Would you consider...medium rare?

Walls, line of sight, and obscuring terrain

Q1. Yes. No. The wall blocks LOS, but you have to see the wall. There's no rules mechanics that differentiate the interior of a square from the edge (i.e., membrane) of the square. Thus, to even see the wall itself you have to be able to see into the square (and thus out of it). Q2. Yes...

Can you use sensing eye to determine the sight of sensing eye?

This sounds neat, but keep in mind that in the example from Mummolus the 3 is too far from x. You don't count squares through the wall, or floor. So, a range of 5 is very limited for seeing around corners. I think the #2 space is okay regarding range. Also, the bigger question is whether you...

    Dead Saving Throw

There are a few, albeit rare, methods to increase saving throws. Some powers, for example, might give you a +2.

A Critical Hit With Prismatic Beams...

I think you apply it twice, once for poison damage and once for fire damage. You definitely don't apply it for the third NAD. If you roll it only once, things are undefined as to whether it is poison or fire and it would then also leave undefined the odd case (albeit extremely highly unlikely)...

    Dead Saving Throw

If you roll a 20 or higher, and you have a healing surge available, you get to take a healing surge as normal. But, this is already at the end of your turn, so you're prone and don't act until next turn.

What's the big deal with large PCs?

The problem with this is that depending on the benefits optimizers will not care about penalties. Think of vertical optimization. "Balance" only works if you are thinking about balance. There will, however, be a lot of people out there who build their characters one-dimensionally, and those...

What's the big deal with large PCs?

Just don't increase damage dice. It never worked well in the previous editions and it won't suddenly work well in any other edition. Changing dice is a terrible idea. If you think that the impact is simply an average +1, then just give Large creatures +1 damage. Period. Balanced across all...

    Abstract Ideas

I looked up some of the OP's posts in other thread and, after reading them, I think I lost a point of Int. Or Wis.

Conditions when all damage is negated

You didn't invent it, but you remembered it from 3.X. That rule doesn't exist in 4E.

In the Spotlight: 4th edition and DPR

The point was self-explanatory. If you have non-combat sessions, then by definition the DPR king cannot hog the spotlight as you indicate in the OP. Because this would contradict your point, I made the obvious connection you had no non-combat encounters. The only alternative is that your...

That's exactly what you said in the OP and what this thread is about. :erm:

What's the big deal with large PCs?

No and no. Forcing the PC to squeeze would be incumbent on the DM to introduce such terrain. Any time this happens, that would clearly be an attempt to hinder the PC. Now, you're creating a major hassle on the DM to be conscious of such things as too many 5ft corridors, bridges, or interior...

In the Spotlight: 4th edition and DPR

A hack and slash non-tactical group would prefer DPR, yes. Why would this surprise you? Do you never have non-combat encounters where DPR becomes zero?

In the Spotlight: 4th edition and DPR

This is the key point in your post and indicates you disagree with the OP. I agree with you that all positions have opportunities to shine. The rest of your post I think is off-topic, but also worth reading.

    a question about movement

Not only as Jack99 points out, but you don't do any of the end-of-turn stuff until after the action point is used. That is, no saves yet, no end-of-turn ending of effects, etc. The fact that the action point precedes saving throws is important because you can't wait till you save versus, say...

    Wiz15 Ball Lightning

It's clear that it's up to two (close burst 1) attacks the first round and one (close burst 1) attack subsequent rounds (not every other round as mentioned above). Whether that's RAI or not does not change the fact that there's no restriction on the repeat attack to be in a subsequent round...

    Creature size and cover

Also, bull rush: "You can bull rush a target adjacent to you that is smaller than you, the same size category as you, or one category larger than you" Maybe a little on acrobatics if you use this example as a guideline: "Somersault over a creature of the same size (hard DC)." Thus, a Small...
