    A Wiz/lock's Spellbook?

My question is: can a wizard multi-classed into warlock, use his spellbook to hold the warlock powers? Both classes give arcane powers, which = "spells." If yes, does that allow you one Power Swap: a> one wizard daily (out of 2) for one warlock daily b> two wizard dailies for two warlock...

Shadow Form and SoKharid Combo Thoughts

You can't move a target vertically with forced movement. Forced movement is usually push/pull/slide, but might also include teleporting effects.

    Looking for...

If they're the same level. That's game balance for ya. But I do kinda get what you're saying here. My answer would be that instead of giving them a Str bonus that would dramatically change combat-effectiveness, they should get some racial feature that increases their carrying capacity, or a...

    No Familiars?

I've always hated D&D familiars; they're just talking pets. A familiar is supposed to be a spirit or demon that can take the form of an animal-- like an imp or quasit. In 4e I might have familiars. No combat stats or uses, but instead an imp that can teach rituals, give (corrupting?)...

    Smudges - All Core books

My DMG has wavy paper (maybe from the humidity) and some wicked creases on a few pages. I don't really care though; they'll end up dog-eared, battered, and soaked in coffee within a few years anyway.

    Light Step

It looks unclear. Adding 1 to overland speed, and adding 5 to the Track DC aren't necessarily bonuses. A bonus seems to be defined (page 275) as something added to a d20 roll. But if they are bonuses, they are untyped and should stack. Obviously it's crazy for a hundred elves to run at fifty...

    Crescendo of violence

Utility powers don't get replaced. You get 7 by level 30.

Effective Imprisoning of PC's, how can you do it?

Solitary confinement. Lock them in the bottom of a well and drop food down to them through a slot. Then they have nothing to shoot. Also, if the conditions are bad enough, rule the PCs can't properly rest, so they only have their at-wills and whatever encounters or dailys they saved.

    Core Handbook Errors Discussion

Dance of Steel isn't better. It's level 3. It' doesn't prevent shifting. It requires a polearm or heavy blade.

D&D 4E Careful Shot vs Twin Strike....No Contest (4e spoilers)

Yeah, compare the ranger's "Weave through the Fray" vs. "Open the Range" utility powers. Both are immediate interrupts triggered by an enemy moving adjacent to you. WttF lets you shift your Wis mod, OtR let's you shift 1 and then move your Wis Mod +1 and you can't end adj to the enemy. Pretty...

    What's broken/overpowered? What's weak?

That might be too powerful though considering how few powers one gets. I think getting rid of the swap feats would be better. Changing a power for a power seems more balanced than changing a power for a power AND a feat.

    Baleful Transposition

Is it a conj. spell? I recall a rule that you can't conjure things to arrive floating above the ground. No teleporting boulders over people's heads, etc.

New FR Dragon Article: The Wailing Dwarf. Reveals some new crunch.

This article reminds of this. If that dwarf had roughly human proportions, it's head would be like 600 ft tall. The Statue of liberty is about 150 ft tall (toe to crown) and the Empire State Building is around 1200. A five-foot-wide shelf winding around the front? They could've built a two...

Dragonborn wearing Dragonscale , Appropriate or Abhorrent

It might creep out humans, but I'd think dragons wouldn't even blink. They eat other sentient creatures (and maybe even each other) no problem. Dragon morality is beyond such things. If one saw a humanoid wearing drgonscales, it might think it was funny. "Aww. It thinks it's people."

But what if I LIKE Anime/Video-game tropes in my D&D?

Sure. I am. I started playing AD&D around 1985 when i was 8 yrs old. It was the first fantasy anything I encountered, and from there I read all the novels Gary recommended in the DMG. (Alot of which, I would pass on today, though Leiber's still my all-time-favorite.) Later on, I played...

Holiday Present - The Elf PHB entry

Yeah. A +1 racial bonus? More auras? *cringe* It seems impossible that that they'd miss such frequent complaints and leave stacking rules unchanged. I'll bet they've done something, but we haven't seen it yet.

    Nightcrawler as a Tiefling

Nope, Kurt was always a fencer, and (I think) his favorite movie was "Captain Blood." Also, Max ranks in Tumble and Balance would be appropriate.
