    Rawhead and Bloody Bones

Wow. Evil little fella. There's a good RH&BB story here that I thought I'd point out since I drew the pretty picture :)

Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God! (Updated: Oct 09/05) Spoiler Free Thread

awful ^Frankly, I think it's a good fit, and just what a sequel to that awful, bad, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, craptacularly stinky, awful, awful, movie deserves.

    Liefeld Returns to Marvel -- X-Force #1

    ^I remember being a pretty big Boom-Boom fan :)

    Liefeld Returns to Marvel -- X-Force #1

Free preview here. Same old Liefeld: most of the characters look the same to me, and most of the layouts... reminiscent, somehow ;) I must say I like it, though. I was jus' a youngster when Rob took over New Mutants back in the day, and I'm glad to see him back in the saddle. Huh: I...

    Ultimate X-Men #50 - Free Preview

For the lovers, the haters, and the merely curious: Ultimate X-Men #50. Brian Vaughan and Andy Kubert make a pretty good team, but they haven't really grabbed me yet. Even Millar's run on the book was uneven. Not saying I don't like it, though -- it definitely has its moments.

Dwarven Rage! What do you love about dwarves?

I must admit I appreciate dwarves more than elves. It always seems odd to me, though, that dwarves haven't discovered things like gun-powder. They always seemed quite technically minded to me.

Have you been published? Share your experiences here.

Lots of good advice in this thread -- thanks, fellas :) I've never written any gaming stuff, but I have published a few short stories in the past year (with lots more to come  ). I think my fiction would appeal to anyone who enjoys gaming, so I'll post a few links: Kings of the...

Dwarven Rage! What do you love about dwarves?

What are the core values/traits of dwarves in your campaign, and what do you do that's different? Dwarves are often the worsts of stereotypes in RPG settings -- so why do they ROCK so much?

    Eberron Novel Proposal: Open Call

Plus, they'll probably sell a lot of Eberron Campaign books ;) (worked on me).

What Actors do You Find to Be Warning Flags

While not an absolute indicator of mediocrity, I have to say I'm rather sceptical of any movie staring Ben Afflick.

    Training, gaming, and reality

Spell Spam I can't imagine merchants wouldn't have mages beaming annoying ads into your mind, against your will, all the time.

    Elves vs. Vulcans

I think I'll inject a good dose of logic into the elves in my Eberron campaign, but maybe make them a little haughty and difficult to get along with, like the Vulcans in Enterprise.

    Eberron Novel Proposal: Open Call

I didn't know that, I'll have to have another look :) I seem to recall that WotC does (or at least did) give a royalty percentage higher than I would have thought. I believe Pocket pays a 1 - 2% royalty in addition to their flat-fee for Star Trek fiction (just for comparison). And of...

So suppose I want to get back into reading comics after a ten year absence...

I'm sure there are some good sites out there, but as someone who just recently jumped back in, I'd say you could pick up any of these books today and not have too much difficulty getting oriented. Thor just started a new arc with a new creative team (80/582). Daredevil has been better than...

'Loki' gets his own comic -- and it looks great!

Read the actual comic of this today -- not just the fuzzy preview. It really is some grand art :)

    Eberron Novel Proposal: Open Call

^The open call is just an extension of WotC's general submissions. They'll be using the Eberron ten-pagers as writing samples, same as if you'd sent in a writing sample. Tor and Baen don't specify how much you'll get if they accept a manuscript over the transom -- why should it be any...

^I just heard from author Jim Van Pelt that he's got a story in Amazing Stories, too. Shaping up to be a nice debut :)

    ebooks

There's no doubt the ebook industry is growing and will continue to grow, but it is still very, very small. There is a small press called Wheatland Press that does quality POD books (all with top talent, like Jerry Oltion and David Brin) that is making a name for itself, but I can't think of...

^Congrats on the sale :) I'll definitely be picking up the first issue. Are you able to tell us the title of your story?
