    Pre-published or self-written modules?

I write my own stuff, mostly. The reason is that it's less time consuming, for me, to write my own campaign world and campaign world because I just make it up as I go along. Also, I don't have to worry about conflicting interpretations of different worlds. Often me and the players have...

D&D 4E The yet still complete list of official 4E D&D products: now with new format!

Three in one year doesn't fit my definition of saturation.

Vampire the Masquerade 20th Edition version

Really? That's impressive because it usually disintegrates when exposed to sunlight. I can't help but wonder if it was really supposed to be an RPG, or joke perpetrated on guy's editor that got out of hand.

    My collection of TSR products...

My only suggestion is Monster Mythology. Great book about the gods of various monster races. Lots of fluff, not a lot of statistics. Great source for fleshing out the mythology of a campaign world.

    D&D 4E Paizo and 4e.

I almost stopped buying 3PP in the 3e era. Quality was an issue. And the high quality stuff wasn't what I was interested it. (Usually whole new d20 games, which isn't what I wanted.) So the GSL never affected me. That said, I did buy a couple of products from Necromancer in the 3.5 era. Both...

Vampire the Masquerade 20th Edition version

Wow. That was one of the first games I played. I got into roleplaying back in the mid 90s when there was a strong anti-D&D sentiment. My friend Mike was the storyteller for a few of our games. He was an angsty kind of guy. I got into Changeling by way of Vampire. Well, I guess 80s nostalgia is...

How is the Wizard vs Warrior Balance Problem Handled in Fantasy Literature?

To be fair, those are things that only a high level fighter are going to face. I think you're shortchanging the SEAL a bit. (Of course, I'm biased, being former a sailor in the U.S. Navy.) Also, few people here or elsewhere are making the claim that high-level fighters aren't, well, better than...

Where to find more Gamma World adventures?

Not that I'm aware of. Both expansions include a mega adventure.

How is the Wizard vs Warrior Balance Problem Handled in Fantasy Literature?

If you've never claimed that you can't have turnip farmer as a background, then how is it you got into this tangent? No one's claimed that D&D is about turnip farming. Frankly, it seems like you guys are arguing over the definition of normal rather than who is normal. While I'm at it... Hey...

    The Vampie Class preview

3e's Savage Species had a monster classes. What made it clunky was that monster hit dice weren't equivalent in power to a PC class level. (Though there were many, many similarities between the two mechanics.) Also 3.5's UA had racial levels that only went up like two or three levels. Given...

How is the Wizard vs Warrior Balance Problem Handled in Fantasy Literature?

I agree, but I don't think you went back far enough. First, KM made a really strong claim. Look at the the first sentence of the quote. Of course, while he says that it doesn't have to be that way, he then says that it is. Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but whatever. Still that's...

How is the Wizard vs Warrior Balance Problem Handled in Fantasy Literature?

Well, Joan's powers were charisma and military strategy. Not exactly beyond mortal ken. By contrast, spiderman can stick to walls without special equipment, avoid dangerous situation even when not paying attention, and pick-up a car and drop it on you if he feels like it. The Maid of Orleans...

New D&D Monster Builder Coming March 22

I've had Cutepdf for awhile. O.k. Interesting, does this preserve the formatting? Whether it gives me the formatting or not, you've given me an idea. I have an option to print four pages on one page on my computer. (Page 1 is in the top left, page 2 is in the top right, etc...) That might be a...

    DDI Update 3/15

The old CB didn't have a ton of house rules support, but I think you're in good company. DMs have been house ruling D&D since it was published, and I think it's important that any electronic tool support those DMs at least little.

New D&D Monster Builder Coming March 22

Here's what I'm afraid of: I copy and paste the monsters from the old MB into Word and put 4+ monsters on one page for printing out. I am not printing out one sheet (or one side of a sheet) per monster.

    The Vampie Class preview

Actually, I think it's perfectly appropriate to make Vampire a class. Anyone who can be a fighter can be a vampire, and they get powers that are useful in adventures. Depending on the vampire story, they don't all get the same powers, so it makes sense to handle power selection via player...
