    Shadowrun War! "Arbeit Macht Frei!"

Ugh. This doesn't fill me with happiness and joy. FWIW, the book's been out on PDF since the 13th. The review on Paizo was put-up on the 19th, after the PDF went on sale. This whole thing upsets me. If it's such a small part of the book, they could have taken it out without a problem. Why put...

    Shadowrun War! "Arbeit Macht Frei!"

That's funny. I know that guy in real life. He was my Shadowrun GM. Good guy, has very strong opinions.

    Shadowrun War! "Arbeit Macht Frei!"

So a friend of mine just alerted me to a new Shadowrun supplement called War!. Anyways, part of the book is supposed detail various mercenary hot spots. One of those is in Poland, and the book has a section in the polish section called "Arbeit Macht Frei!" where the characters have to kill the...

Player challenging DM authority and competative

First, here's my advice: Now, on to a few other things that I think will help in the future. 1. If a player isn't happy playing a PC, then their unhappy about playing that PC. Telling them to suck it up because you think they might make a class you don't like isn't they way to go. What you...

Is the Online CB Working Well Now?

I think your right. At least, that's what I gather from reading it's wiki.

Is the Online CB Working Well Now?

Wait, doesn't cbloader let you add content to the old, classic builder? I looked at cbloader a few weeks ago and it seemed like the steps were 1) run cbloader 2) have fun typing all the rules you want to add. Extracting content and use of online CB didn't seem to enter into it. Here's the...

Will 2011 be the last year of Wizards D&D?

Unlikely. A better analogy is Transformers. Transformers have been around for over a quarter of century and have been released in multiple forms. It has fans from the 80s, as well as more recent fans. It also has a panicy fanbase. Every itteration from the originals to Prime has had it's fans...

Is the Online CB Working Well Now?

Forget linux. Real geeks use FreeBSD. Or OpenBSD, if their especially paranoid. Or NetBSD. (Official NetBSD motto: if it uses electricity, it can run NetBSD.) I believe there's a team out there right now trying to port NetBSD to a Kitchen Aid red toaster. For some reason, the blue one keeps...

    Dungeon Tiles or New Maps?

Both Dungeon tiles are great, so I'm glad Dungeon is using them. But I also like new areas and new maps. Overall maps of the area are nice to, and it's something that I think gets left out of to many published adventure. Generally speaking, maps are one of the first things I steal from a...

Is the Online CB Working Well Now?

Trouble is when you try to argue that csh works "just fine" for shell scripting. Frequent crashing has stopped, but IIRC, that was actually a server issue. The online CB still lacks some basic functionally for non-dedicated like myself. No export function. Missing some essentials info from...

    D&D 4E 4E DM Screen - Worthless or Salvageable?

Excellent question. Taking a look at mine, and numbering the panels from left to right 1-4 this is what I notice: 1. Damage by level. This was quickly errated (and quickly became the poster child for 4e's rapid rules updates) and is fairly outdated. Everything else on this panel is, to my...

Why are single target powers stated as Close Burst?

    1) Not in my heart it isn't. 2) Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page still takes me to the page I expect it to. Yeah, I know, it takes me to www.wizards.com

Are You Using Skill Checks and Skill Challenges

Brevity. The shorter a post is, the more likely people will give you experience. And the more likely that people will read it.

Are You Using Skill Checks and Skill Challenges

Well, in my opinion, it's failure tolerance. By saying x number of success before y failures, it keeps a single skill check from ruining everything. Degrees of success are good to, they give a scale which allows DMs to decide how successful the group is.

    Preview: December and Beyond

So, at the Winter Fantasy prior to the release of 3.5 there was a t-shirt with the 3.5 stats for the pit fiend. It didn't have a CR listed. This prompted rampant speculation that challenge ratings had been dropped from 3.5. In reality, they weren't yet sure what CR to assign the new pit fiend...

Dude, there's a Gamma World expansion coming out this month. Gamma World. If these are the Dark Ages, then hand me my infravision goggles so I can play me some Gamma World!
