    LEGEND OF THE SEEKER #9: Dark/Season 2/2010

Oh, that was in the original books. It's what made my sister and I stop reading them. We got sick of reading elements that felt yanked out of WoT. It got so bad we actually checked the copyright dates on the books to see which came first (WoT did come first, by the way). I'm guessing they're...

    Caprica

See, when there's a Redbox in our grocery store and we never watch more than one movie a week (it's usually more like one every two weeks) we can get the same thing for $2-$4 a month. :) At some point I might bite the bullet and go Netflix, but not just now.

Calling all Gamers! I need some names that will, someday, destroy the world!

Oh, that'll go over real well. :) PCs: "Yeah, we killed your last three predecessors, but we're not going to do that you. We think you should rebel and try to become king!" Duke: :-S

Calling all Gamers! I need some names that will, someday, destroy the world!

I like the idea of the PCs taking care of a threat, seeing it disappear from the list, then seeing it appear again a few gaming sessions later as the character is reincarnated or escapes from prison or whatnot. This could become a running theme where the same name keeps appearing again and...

    Caprica

I liked it enough to be willing to watch more of it. I saw the extended pilot on Hulu a few days ago. I have never actually seen any Battlestar Galactica, though I've had it recommended to me a few times. I don't have an easy opportunity to rent it (not a Netflix member or anything like that...

    Timezones in D&D

I'm not saying there aren't other factors involved with fatigue after a long flight, but the definition of jet lag almost always mentions circadian rhythms. My point is that it is very possible to experience "jet lag" per the dictionary definition with instantaneous travel, like teleporting...

    Timezones in D&D

Is that the point at which the shop owners get particularly crabby, everybody glares at you in the street, and nobody lets you participate in the game of street football? ...those meanies... Back on topic, I'm in favor of noting the time difference ("the sun looks like it's slightly lower in...

    "Upgrading" soon, advice needed

If they don't know, try some of the obvious ones, like "password" or "god" or simply leave it blank. You could also try the username itself as the password. I've seen some places also just use "a" as the password for an machine they don't care about.

    Internet RPG Play

I play in a weekly game online with MapTool. Not sure if it'll be the best if only one person is online, though. You'd either have to find a way to let all of the in-person gamers see the screen (big screen TV or a projector) or you'd have to have one in-person battlemap and one digital...

    Your Biggest Time Sucks

Definitely Hulu for me. A big part of it is that a lot of the videos I want to watch have an expiration date, and a good chunk of them are expiring next month, so I feel like if I don't want to miss my chance to see these videos I need to watch them in the next few weeks, so now just about any...

Spider Man is Dead! Long Live Spider Man?

Please tell me you're kidding. Seriously. Even if it's a lie.

    Rate Avatar (James Cameron)

Sometimes, but I've come to the realization that characters in the media either have practiced holding their breath more than I have or are inhumanly able to hold their breath, so lately I've been having to tell myself not to do it.

Spider Man is Dead! Long Live Spider Man?

Man... don't reboot the series already. Give it a few years. Pick another comic book to do in the meantime.

    The Future of the VTT?

I think some clarification is necessary here. WotC's VTT is probably never going to happen. I don't think anybody in this thread is arguing about that. WotC is not the first manufacturer to try to put out a VTT. There are plenty of other virtual tabletops out there, ones that actually exist...

    Lost seasons 1-5 on Hulu!

You ever add things to your Hulu queue? Whenever I see anything I'm interested in I add it to my queue. That means you only need to type in Stargate once, add all of the shows to your queue, and you're all set until you've finished watching the available episodes. And if more become available...

We're not fixing any more bugs...

My first thought when I read this was that you were asking if the forums would come with a podcast you could listen to on your iPod. :p

How would you like a "Gamers Seeking Gamers" system to work?

In my opinion, this system must give a way to search by distance. I find systems that make me search by a keyword of some sort are extremely unhelpful. I live in an area that's fairly close to two big cities (Providence and Boston) but ideally I'd like to find players much closer than either...

How would you like a "Gamers Seeking Gamers" system to work?

In my opinion, this system must give a way to search by distance. I believe the best way to do this is for the system to ultimately compare latitude and longitude of each user, but that lat and long doesn't need to be inputted by the user, and it doesn't need to be super accurate. I don't...

    Dead Character Prevents Plot

This might be a great roleplaying challenge for the player if he likes that sort of thing. You can allow him to play both the original warforged soul and the dead PC, switching back and forth as he sees fit (or at a roll, if you'd rather do it that way). We had a somewhat similar scenario in a...
