The whole point of Pathfinder is that it will be backwardly compatible. So ALL of your 3/3.5 books will be useable with Pathfinder. That's why Paizo just picked up a couple million new customers with this announcement.

And If 4E fails badly enough (it could happen) Paizo might just end up buying D&D outright from Hasbro after Hasbro shuts Wizards of the Coast down. (Personally, I can't wait until Paizo starts publishing print versions of Dragon and Dungeon again!)

I'm sure that the people that you call "blinkered and uninformed and argumentative" feel the same way. And I'm sure you'd find it strange if one of them was requesting a site where no one was allowed to say anything good about 4E.

I think I'd try to make it similar to other 4E effects: Or the save could be once a month, if you wanted REALLY long term injury. Or base the time between saves on their constitution or something... :confused:

Has WOTC officially said that the playtest characters were written to showcase combat rules only, or is that just what people are saying in response to the "lack of roleplaying" complaint?

I've noticed quite a few people over the last day or so who were really excited about 4E, but now that they've seen actual content have jumped ship back to 3.5. Do they get a thread too?

I'm not sure how useful this "character visualizer" is going to be anyway. Particularly if the characters all look this bad. I'd much rather have them focus on providing an easy to use, bug-free character generator that gets all the stats right and can print out a really good-looking and easy...

They don't make an Iron Defender miniature, so for the playtest I guess they were using the Steel Predator as the closest thing available.

Hmmm.... That nose horn looks just about the right size to be snipped off with a nail-clipper. It will still be a goofy looking dragon, but at least it will be a goofy looking dragon without a nose horn.
