I was considering that as the insider. =) But the doppleganger is not technically an aberration (since this is a Daelkyr plot and artifact) so I moved on from that idea, but since you also brought it up I will have to reconsider that option. It would allow me to further complicate the scenario...

@Mkill: I have played more 4E that the other players and have found that the hybrids can work well to achieve a specific flavor or abilities even though they are suboptimal. The players are newer... =) We are shifting the Paladin hybrid to straight Paladin with Student of Battle. Healing: fair...

We have made very good use of the backgrounds to work with that flavor and get the skills and stuff in line with the previous characters. I love the background mechanic. It totally r0x0r5! I am going to recommend the Barabarian/Ranger retrofit to the player.

@Garthanos That Barabarian idea might work for that player. He has a tendency to play barbarians.... I will recommend that to him. Good ideas there. =)
