Which game books most inspire the "sense of wonder" in you?

I don’t experience a sense of wonder much these days, but many new games I picked up in the past did evoke it. So back in the nineties there was: the World of Darkness games, Shadowrun, WFRP; each introducing a new setting that had me buying the supplements and novels. I was also being...

Do you buy new versions of TTRPG games when you haven't had time to play the older version sitting on your shelf?

Yes, I do if I like the system or have some nostalgic feeling towards it. With the prevalence of PDFs these days, I can limit myself to an electronic version if I feel purchasing a hard copy is too expensive or one step to far for a game I'm not playing.

What magic system that uses some form of power points (e.g. casting spell x costs 3 points) is your favorite?

I like the "Drain system" of Shadowrun. Resist the drain of the spell else suffer either Physical or Stun damage. This means no "extra" attribute to track, and your "health" becomes your spell/mana points.

    Non-magical fantasy subways

Dwarves? They could have invented some sort of *hand waving* pulley system back in the long forgotten Golden Age.

The One Ring & Lord of the Rings RPG New Starter Sets Announced

Color me interested for the new one for TOR. I was a little disappointed with the current one being more a Starter Set for a roleplaying game called "The Hobbit" and not one based on "The Lord of the Rings".

    Rules for Romance in TTRPGs

Some people think conflict of any sort should have similarly detailed rules as those provided for hitting people in the face with a chair. People might be uncomfortable with acting out a scene or are just bad at it and shouldn't be penalised with poor outcomes by the GM because the GM judges...

The Monty Python TTRPG Kickstarter Just Went Live!

Yes. Got it a few weeks ago. Haven't had much time to do anything other than horse around with the coconuts.

Warhammer Fantasy The Old World RPG (TOW) is not WFRP Revised

I suspect the reasons for this are more due to trying to handle the antagonistic nature of chaos to the other factions.

Warhammer Fantasy The Old World RPG (TOW) is not WFRP Revised

A new edition would do that too. As for TOW - I hope they include careers. Every WH game other than WFRP appears to avoid what I consider one of the best parts of WFRP. So very sad!

Reboot The Concept Of Cyberpunk Fantasy With :Otherscape Metro

A colon. The kickstarter produced two books, the core rules Metro:Otherscape and a setting book Tokyo:Otherscape. The game and/or system itself, I guess, is called :Otherscape. Maybe its a riff on games called Game: The Subtitling?

New Warhammer Old World TTRPG Announced

Perhaps you have confused Imperium Maledictum with Wrath and Glory? Both games are referred to as "Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay". IM uses a d100 system very similar to WFRP4E, whereas W&G uses a d6 dice pool. Some of the simplicity IM brings to the table is changes to Advantage, smaller set of...

What TTRPG Is Perfect and Complete In One Volume?

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st Edition. None of the following editions' core rulebooks feels as complete as the 1st edition core rulebook. Other games I feel that you could get away with just the core rulebooks are: Metro: Otherscape (Tokyo: Otherscape being a setting expansion of the core...

Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

Huh. I live in the arse-end of the world which some call Australia. Usually it takes a lot longer for games to get here.
