For audio I've always used WinAmp, except when I'm on the Mac at work then I use ITunes (mainly because the winamp for Mac sucks). For video I just use whatever loads up when I click the file (either Windows Media Player, Quicktime or Real).

I paid $49.95 retail for mine but that ended up being a high price by the time things were done. I'm not looking to sell mine, sorry. Checking e-bay though, I see they're going for more than that now.
