    Neceros' Landscape Character Record Sheet

"Other": I took your first sheet and am in the process of mutilating it. Specifically: Removed melee/ranged boxes, since that information ends up in the basic attack area. Shortened the name box of the basic/at will area (and changed "favorite" to "at will"), increased the size of the range box...

    Making your own power cards

This looks great! Unfortunately, I have 0 experience with MSE, and I can't figure out how to load randolph's template. It's probably something simple. Help?

    Monster stats

There is certainly a table we don't have. However, I suspect it just has a list of standard bonuses by class, and instructions on how to apply them. A full table of 30 levels of monsters, with six classes and four ranks, would be huge. And I don't think it's needed. Granted. But is it because...

    Monster stats

None. But we do have: Ice Archon: level 19, attack +24 Bodak Reacher: level 18, attack +23, vs Fort +20 Chuul Juggernaut: level 23 elite, attack +30, vs Will +29 Angel of Vengeance: level 19 elite, attack +25 Phane: level 26 elite, vs Ref/Fort +29 War Devil: level 22, attack +26 The pattern is...

    Monster stats

More or less. Monsters have stats based on their level and class, and then tweaked a few points from there. The level bonus is equal to their full level; unlike the PCs, that's almost all of the total. The "Customizing Monsters" spells this out fairly explicitly when it says that you add or...

    Monster stats

So I'm designing a 4e one-shot, and I decided to make it epic level (22, to be precise). I leveled up a bunch of monsters and created a few of my own, and that was fine. But now that I've started to stat the PCs, there's a bit of a problem: their defenses are far too wimpy. The HP-damage...

    Subforum Request

Seconded. Or just have some central threads for homebrew material. I don't mind that it's there, but everyone who posts doesn't need their own thread.

    Excerpt: Paragon paths (merged)

Or it could be a common English word used in a summary statement to convey the essence of a feat without the five sentences that feat requires to fully explain. Just a guess.

    Multiclassing Speculation

Well, obviously the fighter has been studying as a wizard for nine levels. Even so, I think the 19th-level power might be a bit much. Why not just have it be a 15th-level power? That fits better with the 11/7 mix earlier.

Displacement - a bit wussy eh? Mirror image too...

My impression of the power curve is that it starts higher than in 3e, but has a much lower slope. In other words, gaining a level will always make you better, but not by a whole lot.

Displacement - a bit wussy eh? Mirror image too...

To do what, exactly? I don't think the pregen had any use for immediate actions. And even if he does, I think a standard action is much, much more valuable than an immediate action.

Displacement - a bit wussy eh? Mirror image too...

I think we're still going to see some of this in 4e. Not so much "daze several monsters for several rounds", but better status effects, better targeting, etc. If they keep the rate of progression to a more reasonable level, it's not so bad. Then dazing several monsters for several rounds (i.e...

Displacement - a bit wussy eh? Mirror image too...

I think you're both right and wrong here. Yes, they're rewriting everything. But your assumption is that the 1e>2e>3e progression was refining the game to a better, more perfect system. And in my experience, that's false. Yes, it was making the game better- but it was also making it painfully...

Force Orb: Secondary attacks on a miss?

DC 5, like any other medium-sized inanimate object. No. What happens if you miss a person? That's what happens. In other words, nothing. So what? The wizard already has a level 1 fireball. This might be slightly better, except it's an encounter power and thus much more valuable. Honestly...

D&D 4E 4e skill system -dont get it.

The success/failure thing? Yeah, I think so. The DM can describe when you hit either threshold, but as Harr illustrated, he doesn't have to. You asked earlier why the Samurai failing a history check would set off the trap. It wouldn't- but if it was enough to "fail" the party, maybe he...

Where do feats fall into this again?

I suspect that it's not. You win the surprise check, you get a full round's worth of stuff before they even move. This seems to fit better with 4e's design goals: avoid corner rules that don't add much to play. I mean, all the rule does is say "one less move action for one round in this one...

Obviously I've missed some stuff- where is this information?

    Undead subject to sleep?

There are no basic undead immunities. That's one of the things they wanted to get rid of: important rules (like Immune Sleep) that aren't in the statblock and you have to spend time looking up.

    D&D 4E 4e Healing - Is This Right?

It is not inconsistent. Taxicab geometry is a perfectly valid metric and is probably more consistent than you are capable of understanding. I, for one, welcome our new L1 overlords.
