What's The Next Big Pop Cultural Push?

The question then becomes.....should they sell this disgusting wall to an art gallery? I know about as much about art as i do being cool.

What's The Next Big Pop Cultural Push?

And hopefully they have marketing people to point them in the other direction. ;)

What's The Next Big Pop Cultural Push?

I was wondering if someone could point me to a conversation of a bunch of old people trying to figure out what the next cool thing is? :ROFLMAO: I'm both old AND not cool so I'll see myself out. 🤓

Advice on Session 0 and Player Surveys (+)

Don't lean too heavily on Session 0. Everything about the game will change as you play. Be clear about the tone you are planning to set. Be clear about what is and is not allowed. Be in charge but also be flexible. Lead the group but let the players lead the party. Don't let the group expect...

Advice on Session 0 and Player Surveys (+)

If you are doing player surveys ask definitive but not leading questions. This is a "bad pizza is still pizza" type thing. Often I have found that some players are just happy to be playing so if you ask them if they had fun they will say yes. This is encouraging of course but not as valuable...

Advice on Session 0 and Player Surveys (+)

Make sure the opening party has a vested interest in the opening plot/premise/story. I don't mean they are all just happy to play. Have the PCs be directly related to the premise. If little Timmy fell in the well and wandered into the caverns under the village....make sure they know Timmy...

    Your table is YOUR table.

The nature of the gaming crowd is as such that they feel this thing is THEIR thing and thou shalt not infringe upon their.....whatever. With any culture there will always be the "you must" and "you must not" crowd. While it does tend to allow for much toxicity it also allows for reformations...

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

I think the important question is this: Will every member of the cast, for reasons passing understanding and regardless of various ancestries and backgrounds all have a fake British accent?!?! I mean really people...ask the right questions!!! ;)

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

    It’s like we’re all enabling ourselves!!!! 🤯

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

I know with D&D "CR" is supposed to allow for the creation of a balanced encounter but where i come from you make a party and then the DM/GM etc. builds encounters around the party. Depending on your play style of course. Again....where i come from we used to call our play...

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

Does the idea of having a balanced party even come from a specific game or publication or is it just a (my favorite term) social construct?

Gaming/RPG Fiction Should Make A Comeback

Doesn't this also mean that self published authors should also improve the quality of their work though?

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

And some people are just hostile. Play the game how you like.

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

You can have any opinion you like. I was suggesting that some players have no idea what goes into being a GM. Please excuse me i haven't read your autobiography yet...it's on my list though.

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

There is a fine line between being a good GM and pandering to a bunch of players who want what they want. GM for a while and see if what you want in a GM is reasonable.

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

Optimizing is also a buzz word. Play the game the way you like but its a symbiotic relationship...a DM without players is about as valuable as players without a DM.

    That's a different conversation. ;)

Hot take: get rid of the "balanced party" paradigm

Balance is a myth. A buzzword. The DM is going to do what they are going to do. Make your PC how you want, any DM worth their salt will adjust.

    D&D 5E (2014) Handling Morale Checks

I mostly agree with you in both instances. DMing is hard. Choices must be made.

    D&D 5E (2014) Handling Morale Checks

I role play the situation. Taking into account the context of the scenario and the personalities involved. We then....you know.....role play. We each take on the roles were playing and then conversate as those personalities. This is the essence of what the game is. Now someone is going to...
