    D&D 5E (2014) The word ‘Race’

I have no idea. I'm interested to know what you find out. I would say for me, it was my peer group that got me involved.

Deep Carbon Observatory - One of the very best OSR adventures ever.

I think this is by Patrick Stuart (not Stewart)

Atoms versus Electrons: eBooks and Roleplaying Games (Part 1)

Multiple columns is a pain in the rear. And ebooks are stuck with vestigial crap like margins. Battery life sucks, you need a backup battery to put in 10 hours at a con. ERPGbooks still have a long way to go.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D article on Polygon re: direction of the brand

In the industry there is a term "brand locomotive" where you have a single property and you attach things to the back of it and the "locomotive (property)" carries along all the other ventures and products behind it.

Perkins' Foreword From OUT OF THE ABYSS

Maybe Drizz't will be designed in a similar role to the White Knight in Alice in Wonderland.

Underdark Outposts: A Preview Page from OUT OF THE ABYSS

Looks good! Random encounters on Darklake sounds like it could be deadly.

    D&D 5E (2014) Sage Advice August 17th

If you are a 6th level cleric with (Brian) Blessed Healer, does people eating your goodberries heal you? Can you have familiars and the like eating goodberries with their actions?

Perkins' Foreword From OUT OF THE ABYSS

After reading Perkins' foreword, I want to plug the work of Michael Shea (deceased in 2014) which features a few stories with insane, weird visions of underworlds. From what I've played from Green Ronin, its likely the adventure is closer to Michael Shea than Lewis Carroll as well. The books...

    Baby and Young Krakens

You are correct, and thank you for catching that. It should read: Hit Points 50 (9d8+9)

    Kobolds, Cutpurses, & Horses!

I like how the photos have a quarter in them to give you an idea of the size of the minis (sorry our friends in the rest of the world).

    Favourite Adventure Modules

I like both of these. I also like The Lost Tomb of Martek. If you are willing to do some conversion work, I think many of Chaosium's Stormbringer modules are pretty good.

    D&D 5E (2014) A new Golden Age for D&D

I was thinking a little more about the "golden age" (type 1 Golden Age per Mercurius' original posts) and was thinking how many games/systems had their golden age in an edition after first: for example, Shadowrun 2e was probably the Golden Age of Shadowrun. Can anyone think of other examples...

    D&D 5E (2014) A new Golden Age for D&D

I remember "back in the old days" someone failing the roll to learn fireball and ripping up their character sheet in frustration and then storming away from the table.

    D&D 5E (2014) 1 Year later: D&D still strong on amazon

I've always wanted to check that place out but was worried when I showed up every table would be full. How many empty tables do they usually have?

    D&D 5E (2014) A new Golden Age for D&D

Aspects of HotDQ/RoT reminded me of Red Hand of Doom. I haven't played Rage of Demons but the main cast seems like it builds upon the demon princes from MM1 and MM2 (and the adventures).

    D&D 5E (2014) A new Golden Age for D&D

Looking at 5e and the 5e release, it is a very derivative work-not the rules, the rules should be derivative-but the adventures are all derived from story and plot that existed in D&D at some other point in the brand's lifetime. I remember during 4e (which did try to innovate) they talked about...
