Checking the Geology of a Map

It's steadily taking shape and being refined with feedback. Still not entirely happy with the arid badlands area though.

Checking the Geology of a Map

Thanks. Definitely the kind of feedback I'm looking for, and easily fixed.

Checking the Geology of a Map

The map has expanded quite considerably, but is still a WIP (there are a few things I'm still not happy with). I'm using hexfriend to create it because it's free, easy, and quick.

Checking the Geology of a Map

There is certainly reason enough for some oddities beyond those I mentioned. Here's the campaign setup: THE PAST The lands of Centauri were thriving. The dual suns and daystar shone down on a period of peace. There was little strife and the depredations of the Fey had been much reduced...

Checking the Geology of a Map

Who said it's for my Players? This one is for the GM (me) only. After two centuries being locked away in their mountain enclaves during the undead apocalypse, the players will have some (outdated) maps, but will find the post-apocalyptic world different to say the least. In part because nature...

Checking the Geology of a Map

Okay, added the rivers and revised the lakes and marsh. Any thoughts? The portcullis symbols represent dungeons. The black dome is an entrance to the underworld. The ruins are ruined towns and villages from before the undead apocalypse, though I need to add a few more. Any suggested hexes...

Checking the Geology of a Map

That does help, thanks. In my next update, I'll revise the lakes/marshes as I add the rivers.

Checking the Geology of a Map

I envisioned the wind predominantly blowing west to east, because I think (and please correct me if I'm wrong) if it was blowing east to west, the land to the west of the mountains would be significantly more arid.

Checking the Geology of a Map

That's exactly what I was aiming to do, but I need to ensure it makes sense geography-wise.

Checking the Geology of a Map

I was going to add rivers from the M. mountains, running down (and through the foothills) to form the large, deep lake. Then add a river running south from the lake (joined by several smaller rivers from the mountains it runs parallel to as it descends to the south), entering the shallow lake...

Checking the Geology of a Map

I'm putting together a little hex map of the tip of the SE corner of a continent in my game world, but I'm no geologist (like, at all), so wondered if folks can spot any obvious problems with it so far? It's a WIP, so it's being worked on, and as each hex is a six-mile hex, it (obviously) lacks...

Silicone Dice - What're They Like?

Sets like THESE are what I'm talking about.

Silicone Dice - What're They Like?

So, I've noticed sets of silicone dice appearing with greater frequency, and that got me to wondering why. What are the pros and cons in use, in wear and tear, in fairness? Don't they just bounce around like a toddler who's just ingested their own bodyweight in sugar? Are they a gimmick or are...

Dice with character...when is using them cheating?

Best word in the whole thread. Hands down. Try saying it aloud three times without grinning like a goober.

    Dice etiquette, rules, and superstitions

Ah, a man of taste and erudition, I see. ;) I've got a golden retriever and a golden collie (the latter is some crazy combination, I tell ya. The intelligence and energy of a border collie with the appetite of a retriever. I swear to god I once saw him stand up and open the fridge door one...
