D&D 5E (2014) Do you have fights that are *supposed* to happen?

The key word in the first two choices, and the reason I voted that way, is PROBABLY. Which, judging from the OPs last few posts, is not what he ment.

According to AOL News, Martin Milner has also passed.

OUT OF THE ABYSS Has Derro - Check Them Out!

I know this is a D&D forum, but please! The Derro first showed up in the 1950s, in Amazing Stories, as part of the Shaver Mystery. Let's get our facts straight, shall we?

D&D 5E (2014) Should all undead have some kind of resistance against "cold"?

Can't say that I've ever really thought about it, but yeah, it makes sense.

    dm looking for help

What level are the characters? I suspect that Keep on the Borderlands will work well. But if they are actually 1st/2nd level you might try to find The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. Nothing like a 'haunted' house and pirates!

    Godzilla: Final Wars...

Yeah, the big guy was disintegrated at the end of the very first movie. But he knows how to make a comeback!

    Picking a deity for a non-cleric PC

I don't often bother. But when I do I look at class first, then alignment, and finally race.

Request for assistance with designing a side-quest.

This is why none of my characters will ever get on a ship unless dragged on. You know the instant you set foot on board that you're going to get shipwrecked and/or attacked by pirates. Every single time!

    Fish & Chips

There used to be plenty of fish and chips places in New England. Not sure about now. Here in Worcester we've still got a couple.

D&D 4E Maybe D&D 4e should be... World of Warcraft?

Tell me about it! I've had NWN for years, and can't get it to do anything!

What technology do you use in your campaign?

1200s-1300s mostly. Sometimes I've gone higher, but I never allow gunpowder. (Nor do my players, when I'm running such, complain. They know that I know how bloody dangerous early firearms were... especially to their users! And those load times!)

    creating a great map handout

There is very little that I can add to the above excellent suggestions. You might want to draw your map on 'vellum' paper that can be found at art supply houses and stationary stores. If your group has anyone interested in codes you might make a 'new' language out of a substitution code with a...

    PC Development Timespan

Travel times certainly need to be taken into account. (Unless you're playing the Gilded Hole style of: You travel a few miles out of town to the dungeon...) And if you are playing in a 'normal' 40 degree latitude middle ages setting they had better be taking the winter off. (Snow, lots of it...

    Was D&D the first RPG?

More info on MAR Baker's EoPT would be appreciated. The (former) owner of a now defunct Game Store here insists that it was the first RPG. (But I always took that with a grain of salt.)

    Vikings or Celts

Quoted for truth. But yeah, by the middle ages the Mongols are the way to go.

    Favorite Character...

Lysanthia the Good Cleric. Had her face stolen. After a long trek in the underdark she decided that she simply couldn't adventure with the rest of the party anymore. (These were the guys who drew faces on her blank featues while she was 'asleep' in order to 'help' her.) But she was with the...

    Expectations/gamer courtesy

For the food issue, I think you ought to have little or nothing on hand for your next game. When someone mentions it, you reply: "Oh yeah. Guess someone'll have to make a snack run. So everyone who wants something, chip in." That way you just seem to have forgotten to have picked anything up and...

A PC by any other name...

Every Dwarf I've ever played, save one, has been named Bjorn. (The odd one out was named Bjarni  ) And I often use real names for characters. I try not to use ones that are too common, but a Jim or Bob can always work in a pinch. If not for most non-humans, anyway. And, of course...
