I picked: Bard, full caster and lots of other goodness. Rogue, good in combat and out of. Paladin, good damage and excellent party support. in general i think all the classes look good except barbarian and ranger.

The AC gets to add the ranger pc proficiency bonus to attacks and other things. So it will be better. But of course the ranger is losing its own attacks for that.

I'm aware not all druids have animal companions but i was surprised to not see it as an option. With the rangers beastmaster subclass underwhelming me, is there another way? i'm thinking either a feat or simply having an npc animal companion. Thoughts?

To me the hunter is fine, it clearly has a role. But the beast master simply trades an attack for the pets attack. The prof bonus is handy but i don't see why you have to use an action for the pet to attack. What is it doing the rest of the time if not attacking? if another pc trained a pet...

What are peoples oponions on the new ranger then? I have the book but haven't had time to read it much, but still it looks like the ranger is a bit naff. i really don't like how you use your actions to make your companion attack. why would you want to when you are probably better off attacking...

Seconded Also used the kingdom rules with 13th age. this book is amazing and i will be using it with 5e

Not sure, roughly in this order 1. golarion 2. homebrew 3. Ravenloft 4. Al-quadim 5. dark sun 6. eberron 7. Realms- and only because the initial adventures are set there and it many be easier to use them until MM and DMG comes out

Since paizo make a ton of money from APs it would actually be in their interest to make a conversion guide. So people could play 5e using paizo APs. thats better than people avoiding pathfinder totally. Fingers crossed anyway

This is me also. i gave up on 4e quickly cos it got messy with all the powers and needing to have DDI. Pathfinder seemed to give me all i wanted and i loved all the books. BUt i quickly realised that going up levels assumed PCs would be optimised which they werent. I hate the massive hit...
