Re: Shop Local
Oh please. Maybe if I had an unlimited budget, but when you have to balance gaming with a fiancee, birthdays, weddings, food, and an apartment, I'll take my savings where I can get them.
I'm actually looking forward to this.
They'd have to try pretty hard to make it worse than the first movie, and I think they'l do a much better job with it.
I don't like Storm either, but seeing Halle Berry in that tight shirt more makes it worth it.
As a matter of fact, I think X2 had a lot more sex appeal than the first one. Just another reason why it's better than X-Men. :D
Given, this is a nasty combo.
But it isn't the easiest combo to pull off (you need to multiclass or burn a feat, as described in my previous post), or you need to be a cleric, and choose a deity with the magic domain.
I'm not disbelieving you, but I'd just like to know why it's considered suicidal.
I was always told that in 1e and 2e, multiclassing was the way to go.
I was planning on casting Armor often, and fighting with a longsword two-handed.
Well, I'm going to be the fighter of the party. I guess it's a bad combo under this condition then, eh?
Maybe I'll just go with a ranger or fighter then.
aahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I was unaware of that rule.
But still, it hurts more getting hit with two fists together (ala Cap. Kirk), than with just one hand -- trust me ;)
Is a Gnome Illusionist/Fighter a viable option in 2e?
It's been a long time since I played 2e, but is there any advice I could get on a character like this?
I disagree, Zhure.
A scroll still takes time, money, and experience to make.
If a spellcaster has already either 1)taken a level (or more) away from his spellcasting class to learn to wear armor, or 2)has burned a feat to wear armor, then throw them this bone in letting them cast spells from...
Power Attack/Cleave (or Sunder) if you're going to be dealing out a good amount of damage.
I'd suggest Improved Initiative. You want your spells going off first. The initiative might determine whether or not you can get that CLW off before going down!
Point buy!
Select the same starting number for the player, and add a d4 points.
Everybody will be pretty close on starting ability points, but not completely equal.
I'd also suggest an extra 2 points for players of Monks, Paladins, and Rangers (but maybe not 3.5 Rangers).
The free EWP is good, especially at lower levels.
If the DM wants to balance it out, just don't hand out magical Dwarven Waraxes. Heck, if they are exotic, they're assumed to be much more rare, and therefore won't be found in treasure piles.
I wholeheartedly agree, and I've been saying this for a while.
If you're really interested in playing a Half-Elf (I do think they offer interesting role-playing scenarios, playing the 'outcast' role), then do so.
I remember seeing a suggestion on these boards a while ago, saying that being...
